Job Summary:

The Pricebook Specialist role is a part time position that plays a crucial role in the Sales and Pricing department of our local and family-owned business, which manages multiple stores. We prioritize customer and employee satisfaction, and the Pricebook Specialist is instrumental in achieving these goals. The Pricebook Specialist will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company's pricebook, ensuring accurate pricing information, and analyzing market trends to recommend pricing strategies that maximize profitability. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with various teams. 

Key Responsibilities:

Pricebook Management:

Develop, maintain, and update the company's pricebook system for our retail stores.
Ensure accurate and consistent pricing across all products and services to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Regularly review and update pricing structures based on internal and external factors, considering both customer expectations and business profitability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Sales, Marketing, and Finance, to gather pricing information and ensure alignment with our customer-centric approach.
Will work with and coordinate retail store managers, territory managers and GM.
Communicate with vendors, retail store managers, and team members to maintain effective operations and billing.
Monitor and assist with pricing-related questions through the helpdesk, improving problem-solving efficiency.
Hold team members accountable for their responsibilities in maintaining the Pricebook system.
Collaborate with IT teams and seek support and advice from various positions within pricing.
Maintain professional relationships and demonstrate core values within the company.
Develop, maintain, and update the company’s EPOS system for propane retail.

Data Accuracy and Analysis:

Conduct regular audits to verify data integrity and resolve any pricing discrepancies, ensuring accurate invoicing and reducing customer dissatisfaction.
Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and customer demands to make data-driven pricing recommendations that align with our business objectives and enhance customer satisfaction.
Monitor price changes and assess their impact on profitability and market competitiveness, while ensuring that our pricing remains fair and competitive for our customers.

Pricing Strategy:

Work closely with the Pricing Manager to develop and implement pricing strategies that balance profitability and customer satisfaction.
Provide input on pricing adjustments, discounts, and promotions to maximize revenue, market share, and customer loyalty.
Collaborate with the Sales team to analyze pricing performance and identify areas for improvement, ensuring that our pricing strategies support our employees' ability to deliver exceptional customer service.

System Enhancements:

Continuously improve the pricebook system and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy, reducing errors and improving employee satisfaction.
Identify automation opportunities to streamline pricebook management tasks, allowing our employees to focus more on delivering personalized customer experiences.
Collaborate with IT teams to implement system upgrades or enhancements as needed, ensuring that our technology supports our customer and employee satisfaction goals.

Documentation and Training:

Create and maintain documentation related to pricing policies, procedures, and guidelines, promoting consistency and transparency across our retail stores.
Conduct training sessions for internal stakeholders on pricebook management and related processes, ensuring that our employees have the knowledge and skills to provide accurate pricing information to customers.
Provide support and guidance to sales representatives and other team members regarding pricing inquiries and issues, fostering a positive work environment and empowering our employees to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred.
Previous experience in pricing, finance, or a related analytical role is preferred.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manipulate data.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
Proficient in using pricing tools, CRM systems, and Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet software.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with cross-functional teams.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on data analysis.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of pricing strategies, market trends, and competitive dynamics is a plus.
Travel as needed to meetings, stores, trade shows, conferences, trainings, and other events or situations that may require on-site presence.
Background in gas stations and convenience stores, or other retail environment is preferred.
