Preschool Teacher (part-time, $19.00-$21.00/hour)

ABOUT US: Schaumburg Park District is an award-winning parks and recreation agency that provides its 80,000 residents with a wide variety of recreational programs, classes, and events as well as facilities, parks and open spaces. Our Early Childhood Preschool is home to 11 classrooms of high-quality pre-kindergarten education for 2 ½- to 4-year-olds in addition to a wide variety of early childhood programming, summer camps, parties and special events.

JOB SUMMARY: As a Preschool Teacher, you will be responsible for leading preschool classes in accordance within the adopted guidelines, policies, procedures, and budget; developing weekly lesson plans; establishing and maintaining positive communication with parents through daily communication and parent/teacher conferences twice a year; creating a space that is conducive to learning; maintaining attendance records, maintaining student information and medical files; and more!

QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified applicants must have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a Bachelor’s Degree in any other field of study with a minimum of twelve (12) Early Childhood credit hours (with DCFS approval). Sixteen (16) hours of in-service training each year is also required. CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are required (we provide!)

SCHEDULING & PAY: This is a school-year position that runs from mid-August 2026 through May 2027. Exact class schedule may vary between hours of Monday through Friday from 8:30 am – 3:00 pm. There is an option available for summer hours and/or additional subbing opportunities. Some evenings may be required based on special events, meetings, and other programs or activities. Target hiring rate is $19.00-$21.00/hour, DOQ (depending on qualifications).
