Soccer Shots of DuPage County is looking for energetic, dependable college students and young adults to join our coaching team this fall!

As a Soccer Shots Coach, you'll work with children ages 2–8, introducing them to soccer through fun, age-appropriate activities that help build confidence, character, teamwork, and a love for being active.

And don't worry if you're not a soccer expert—soccer coaching experience is not required! We provide paid training and everything you need to become a great coach.

What You'll Do

Each session is designed to be fun, active, and engaging. You'll:

• Lead soccer activities for groups of 5–10 children
• Keep kids moving, engaged, and excited to participate
• Encourage children and celebrate their successes
• Help children develop confidence, teamwork, and listening skills
• Communicate professionally with parents, teachers, and Soccer Shots staff
• Arrive prepared, on time, and ready to have fun!

Our best coaches aren't necessarily the ones with the most soccer experience. They're the coaches who can connect with kids, get excited about their success, and create an environment where every child feels encouraged.

What We're Looking For

Reliable & Responsible

• Show up on time and ready to coach
• Take ownership of your sessions and responsibilities
• Communicate clearly and professionally

Energetic & Fun

• Enjoy being active and working with young children
• Don't mind being silly, imaginative, and energetic
• Can keep a group of young children engaged and having fun

Great with Kids

• Previous experience with children is preferred
• Experience in childcare, camps, teaching, tutoring, coaching, or education is a plus
• Soccer experience is helpful, but not required
  

Professional

• Positive attitude and friendly personality
• Comfortable interacting with families, teachers, and school staff
• Represent Soccer Shots positively at every location

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
  
• Must be available between 9 AM–1 PM for preschool and childcare center sessions

• Reliable transportation to locations throughout DuPage County
• Access to a smartphone and internet
• Ability to pass a background check, fingerprinting, and medical screening in accordance with DCFS requirements

No Coaching Experience? We'll Train You!

Every Soccer Shots coach completes our paid training and certification program before coaching independently.

You'll learn how to:

• Lead fun, age-appropriate soccer activities
• Manage groups of young children
• Create a positive and engaging environment
• Communicate effectively with families and staff
• Deliver the Soccer Shots curriculum with confidence

You'll also receive ongoing support and coaching as you grow in the role.
