Pre-Op/PACU Nurse - Per Diem

Essential Job Functions:

• Will assess patients prior to surgery.
• Ensure that operative and informed consents are signed and in order. 
• Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure. 
• Initiate IVs and ensure that patients are informed about the procedure.
• Assess patients’ post-operative condition. 
• Monitor vital signs.
• Log all findings in patient’s medical record.
• Answer patient questions and ensure they are kept comfortable.
• Educate patients and their families on post-operative instructions.
• Monitor patients for condition changes and report any changes to the physician.
• Will support the Nurse Coordinator 
• Perform intervention duties in cases of post-operative emergencies.

Requirements

Education, Licensure and Experience

• Minimum 2-3 years management experience in a Pre-Op/PACU environment.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in nursing or other health-related field or equivalent work experience. MHN preferred.
• Current California Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
• Successful completion of BLS, ACLS and PALS.

Pay Rate

$56.86 | $62.55 | $68.80
