Pre-Collections Specialist

Job DetailsJob Location: Salisbury, NC 28144ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Contact patients before appointments to verify demographic and insurance information.
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
Obtain prior authorizations or referrals when required.
Review patient balances, copays, deductibles, and coinsurance.
Estimate patient out-of-pocket expenses.
Collect copayments, deposits, or pre-service payments.
Explain financial policies and payment options to patients.
Document all patient communications and insurance verification in the medical record or practice-management system.
Coordinate with providers, scheduling, billing, and registration teams to resolve issues before the patient's appointment.
Identify missing or inaccurate information that could delay billing or reimbursement.
Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
Provide professional customer service while handling sensitive financial and medical information.
Other duties as assigned.

Education:   High school diploma or equivalent GED, / bachelor’s degree, desired
