Our client is an earned-media PR agency focused on helping organizations and subject-matter experts build public authority through media relations and thought leadership. The agency works across sectors including B2B technology, cybersecurity, healthcare, public policy, education, and culture, developing targeted narratives and securing credible media placements that compound over time.

✍ Short Description:

We are looking for a senior, hands-on PR Specialist to independently manage 4–6 client accounts and own earned media execution from research through placement. This role is centered on identifying the right journalists, developing defensible and timely angles, writing highly personalized pitches and thought leadership content, securing coverage, and managing senior client relationships. The ideal candidate is an experienced media relations professional who can move quickly across unfamiliar industries, produce client- and journalist-ready work with minimal review, and personally drive measurable earned-media results.

💼 Responsibilities:

• Own media relations end to end across 4–6 client accounts, including media intelligence, reporter targeting, pitching, follow-ups, placements, writing, tracking, and client communication.

• Research unfamiliar sectors quickly, identify relevant reporters and editors, build targeted media lists, monitor news cycles, and surface timely angles clients can credibly speak to.

• Write highly personalized media pitches, bylines, op-eds, contributed articles, and thought leadership content tailored to specific publications, audiences, and industries.

• Run structured pitch and follow-up sequences, manage journalist responses, coordinate briefings and interviews, and handle embargoes, exclusives, corrections, and supporting materials.

• Own day-to-day client relationships, including weekly status updates, monthly coverage reporting, interview preparation, expectation setting, and proactive recommendations.

• Maintain detailed account trackers and continuously bring forward new media angles, formats, calendar hooks, awards, partnerships, and speaking opportunities.

💡 Qualifications:

• 3-4 years of experience in agency PR or in-house communications, with substantial hands-on experience personally pitching journalists and securing earned media coverage.

• Demonstrated placements across at least two unrelated sectors, with the ability to explain the strategy, targeting, pitch, and execution behind those results.

• Direct experience in at least one of the following areas: cybersecurity or enterprise technology, healthcare, health technology or biotech, government and public policy, education, culture and the arts, nonprofits, or energy and renewables.

• Exceptional native-level American English writing skills, with experience creating media pitches, bylines, op-eds, contributed articles, thought leadership, and client-facing communications.

• Strong experience with PR and media intelligence tools such as Muck Rack, Cision, Meltwater, Prowly, Qwoted, or equivalent platforms.

• Direct ownership of senior client relationships and experience managing multiple accounts simultaneously with a high level of autonomy.

• Experience using AI for research, media-list development, angle exploration, monitoring, synthesis, and reporting, combined with a rigorous process for verifying reporters, beats, facts, statistics, and sources before use.
