Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for cleaning contracted buildings and office space.
North Jersey Friendship House is seeking a part-time Porter Floater, who will be responsible for covering various locations, as well as cover when someone is out. The Porter Floater will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure occupants a clean and safe environment. The shift is Monday through Friday (5pm - 9 pm), with weekend flexibility Saturday (12pm - 5pm). Must be able to work weekends when needed. The ideal candidate must be friendly, a self-starter, and able to take direction well.
Essential Functions Include:
- Cleans and maintains cleanliness of offices, classrooms and lobby floors, windows, doors and walls.
- Cleans and maintains cleanliness of restrooms; includes floors, sinks, counters, commodes and fixtures.
- Clean and maintain cleanliness of elevators and/or stairwells.
- Monitor the interior and exterior of the building and grounds to make certain the grounds and common areas are free of debris.
- Empty garbage containers in common areas, offices, classrooms, and restrooms ensuring general areas are free of litter.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1-year previous maintenance / janitorial experience.
- Ability to handle multiple projects.
- Must have a valid driver's license and transportation.
- The Porter Floater will use an agency vehicle to drive to and from individual work sites.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday (5pm - 9 pm); Saturday (12 pm – 5 pm)
- Weekend availability
