Job Description
Position Title: Porter
Department: NJ Janitorial
FTE/Classification: Part-Time/Non-Exempt
Pay: $16.00 per hour
Location/Shift:
| Recreation Center | Monday through Friday 3:30pm - 5:00pm |
| Department of Public Works | Monday through Friday 5:00pm - 7:00pm |
| Health Department | Tuesday & Thursday 7:00pm - 9:30pm |
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for cleaning contracted buildings and office space.
Essential Functions Include:
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
- Gather and empty trash.
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using specific cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
- Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Any other duties deemed necessary for the cleanliness of the building.
REQUIREMENTS:
- One year of janitorial experiences (preferred but not required)
- Ability to get to job site for required shifts
