Polish Technician

Job Details: Job Location: 3500 - Auburn Hills, MI, Salary Range: Undisclosed, SUMMARY:

Assists in the finishing of parts in after they have been painted.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Demask finished parts and make an inspection of the part to ensure no damage is done.
Perform a finish of the part(s) after painting is completed using the specified products outlined in the work instruction.  Products may include wax, compound, or polish.

Finish surfaces by polishing with sandpaper, pumice, compound, wax or other materials.
Maintain clean and safe work environment
Maintains cleanliness of spray booth
Positions articles in jigs or erects ladders or scaffolding
Perform other tasks as assigned or approved by the Paint Manager
Qualifications: Background in paint and body repair with a minimum of 3 years hands-on experience.  A High School or GED equivalent required.  A certificate from an accredited technical or an industrial trade school is preferred.  Needs to be a self-starter with proficiency in budgeting time.  Incumbent must possess basic hand tools for the position and upgrade such tools as required to complete the tasks assigned.
