Job Details: Job Location: SHAH Development - Christiansburg, VA, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Shah Development, LLC is seeking a dependable, experienced Pipe Layer to join our growing construction team. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, hardworking, and takes pride in delivering high-quality underground utility installations.
Responsibilities:
Install underground water, sewer, and storm drainage pipe according to plans and specifications.
Prepare trenches and ensure proper grade, alignment, and bedding of pipe.
Assist with excavation, backfilling, and compaction.
Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and project layouts.
Work safely around heavy equipment and communicate effectively with operators.
Perform routine inspections to ensure proper installation and compliance with project requirements.
Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe worksite.
Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a pipe layer or in underground utility construction preferred.
Knowledge of water, sewer, and storm drainage systems.
Ability to read construction plans and use grading tools is a plus.
Experience working around excavators, loaders, and other heavy equipment.
Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing in and out of trenches, and working in various weather conditions.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
Valid driver's license required
Competitive pay based on experience. Pay Range: $22.00 - $30.00
