REPORTS TO: SPA & FITNESS DIRECTOR

POSITION SUMMARY

The Pilates Instructor is responsible for delivering safe, engaging, and personalized Pilates instruction that enhances Members' strength, flexibility, balance, posture, mobility, and overall well-being while providing an exceptional luxury club experience. This position leads private and small-group Pilates sessions, develops individualized exercise programs, and educates Members on proper movement techniques, body awareness, and injury prevention through professional instruction and encouragement.

The Pilates Instructor serves as a wellness ambassador for Hideaway Golf Club by building lasting Member relationships, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and safety, and creating a welcoming, motivating, and inclusive wellness environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Member Wellness & Instruction

· Conduct individual fitness and movement assessments within the scope of certification. 

· Design personalized Pilates programs based on each Member's goals, physical abilities, health history, and fitness level. 

· Lead safe, engaging, and effective private and small-group Pilates sessions. 

· Instruct Members on proper body alignment, posture, breathing techniques, flexibility, balance, and core stabilization. 

· Modify exercises to accommodate varying fitness levels, physical limitations, injuries, or special considerations. 

· Monitor Member progress and adjust exercise programs to support continued improvement. 

· Educate Members on movement mechanics, injury prevention, and overall wellness. 

· Maintain accurate session records, progress notes, and appointment schedules. 

Member Experience & Hospitality

· Deliver exceptional, personalized service that exceeds Member expectations. 

· Build professional relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries. 

· Learn Members' wellness goals, movement abilities, and exercise preferences to provide individualized experiences. 

· Create a welcoming, encouraging, and inclusive environment for Members of all experience levels. 

· Respond professionally to Member questions, concerns, and requests. 

· Protect Member privacy and maintain confidentiality regarding all health and wellness information.

Fitness Operations

· Ensure the Pilates studio and fitness areas remain clean, organized, and fully operational. 

· Inspect Pilates reformers, chairs, barrels, mats, and other equipment daily and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly. 

· Assist with equipment setup, organization, and storage. 

· Maintain adequate supplies of cleaning products, towels, and studio accessories. 

· Participate in club wellness events, demonstrations, educational workshops, and special programming. 

· Promote Pilates instruction, wellness programs, group fitness classes, and other Spa & Fitness offerings through relationship-building, Member education, and exceptional service. 

· Support departmental goals by encouraging Member participation in wellness programs and helping create a vibrant, engaging fitness community. 

· Maintain accurate records of sessions, Member progress, package utilization, and required departmental documentation.

Professional Standards

· Maintain all required certifications and continuing education requirements. 

· Remain current on Pilates methodologies, exercise science, movement education, wellness research, and industry best practices. 

· Follow all safety procedures, emergency response protocols, and Club policies. 

· Maintain a professional appearance consistent with Hideaway Golf Club standards. 

· Foster teamwork through positive communication and collaboration. 

· Represent Hideaway Golf Club with professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm. 

· Perform other duties as assigned.

MEMBER EXPERIENCE & CLASS EXPECTATIONS

· Maintain accurate class schedules, appointment records, and Member progress documentation. 

· Prepare the Pilates studio and equipment before each session. 

· Begin and conclude each class or private session on time while maximizing the Member experience. 

· Communicate professionally regarding appointments, scheduling changes, cancellations, and follow-up recommendations. 

· Monitor Member technique and modify exercises to promote proper alignment and safe movement patterns. 

· Encourage Member accountability through positive coaching, education, and motivation. 

· Maintain accurate documentation while protecting Member confidentiality. 

· Support Hideaway Golf Club's commitment to personalized wellness, exceptional service, and luxury hospitality.

Requirements

· Current Pilates Instructor certification from a nationally recognized organization (Balanced Body, STOTT Pilates, BASI Pilates, Polestar Pilates, Peak Pilates, or equivalent). 

· Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification. 

· Previous experience teaching Pilates in a luxury fitness club, private club, resort, wellness center, or comparable environment preferred. 

· Strong knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, movement principles, posture, flexibility, and injury prevention. 

· Ability to safely demonstrate Pilates exercises and operate Pilates equipment. 

· Ability to modify exercises for varying fitness levels and physical limitations. 

· Excellent interpersonal, communication, and motivational skills. 

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple Member schedules. 

· Professional appearance, discretion, and sound judgment. 

· Commitment to exceptional Member service and luxury hospitality standards. 

· Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require. 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

· Certifications in Pilates reformer instruction, corrective exercise, senior fitness, golf fitness, yoga, or related specialties are desirable. 

· Hospitality, customer service, or guest relations training is beneficial.

· Commitment to delivering exceptional Member service and upholding luxury hospitality standards.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance 

· Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

· Criminal and civil background clearance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Standing and moving throughout private and group Pilates sessions while demonstrating proper techniques and monitoring Member performance. 

· Demonstrating Pilates exercises, stretching techniques, breathing mechanics, and functional movement patterns while modeling proper body mechanics. 

· Frequently bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, and adjusting body positioning while instructing Members and assisting with proper alignment. 

· Safely setting up, adjusting, moving, and maintaining Pilates reformers, chairs, barrels, mats, resistance equipment, and other studio accessories. 

· Inspecting Pilates equipment before each session to ensure it is clean, properly adjusted, and safe for Member use.

· Using computers, tablets, scheduling software, and electronic records to manage appointments, Member progress, and class documentation. 

· Communicating continuously with Members, Guests, Spa & Fitness staff, and management regarding instruction, scheduling, and wellness services.
 

Work Environment 

This position works throughout the Spa & Fitness Center, primarily in the Pilates studio, fitness center, and other designated wellness areas. Pilates Instructors frequently interact with Members, Guests, Spa & Fitness staff, and Club leadership while providing private instruction, small-group classes, movement assessments, and wellness education. This role requires maintaining a safe, professional, motivating, and welcoming environment while adapting instruction to meet individual Member needs.
