Physician Assistant - Urgent Care (PRN)

Position Summary Exciting Opportunity! Meritus Health is actively seeking an Urgent Care Physician Assistant to join our growing Urgent Care team. This is a fast-paced, patient-centered role where you will provide high-quality care for acute walk-in conditions while performing minor procedures such as suturing, fracture care/splinting, and incision & drainage (I&D).

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a wide variety of acute urgent care cases
• Perform minor office procedures including suturing, splinting, and I&D
• Deliver empathetic, respectful, and responsive patient care
• Utilize evidence-based practices and advanced technology
• Collaborate with patients and the care team to support informed decision-making
• Maintain accurate documentation and proficiency in EHR (EPIC preferred)

Requirements

• Education: Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies required.
• Experience: One year of experience as a Physician Assistant preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Active Maryland Physician Assistant license; Current DEA registration and CDS permit; Current BLS (AHA) required; ACLS required.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong critical thinking and clinical competence; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to work collaboratively across all disciplines; Strong organizational skills; Proficiency in coding (ICD-10 & CPT) or commitment to learn; Knowledge of case management and managed care.
