Cardiology Physician Assistant Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including histories, physical exams, and diagnostic interpretation
Provide care across outpatient clinic and inpatient settings
Manage pre- and post-procedural cardiac patients
Serve as Surgical First Assist in cardiovascular procedures
Develop and implement treatment plans for acute and chronic cardiac conditions
Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests (ECGs, stress tests, imaging, labs)
Perform delegated procedures (wound care, sutures, line support)
Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and follow-up care
Document care accurately in the electronic health record
Collaborate with cardiologists, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams
Participate in quality improvement and clinical protocol development
