We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist II to join our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team and help individuals achieve their highest level of independence and participation.

Position Summary

The Physical Therapist II evaluates, develops, and implements individualized therapy programs for individuals with acquired or developmental disabilities. In addition to providing direct patient care, this role demonstrates advanced clinical expertise in one or more specialty areas and collaborates with departmental leadership to support staff development, training initiatives, program development, and performance improvement projects.

What You'll Do

Clinical Care

• Evaluate and re-evaluate patients using standardized, objective, and evidence-based assessment tools.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that support patient goals and functional outcomes.
• Deliver physical therapy services consistent with Maryland Board of Physical Therapy Examiners regulations and APTA standards of practice.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Educate caregivers regarding home, community, and therapeutic programming.

Leadership & Clinical Specialization

• Develop and demonstrate advanced proficiency in one or more clinical specialty areas.
• Assist with the development of clinical practice guidelines, treatment protocols, and service delivery models.
• Review and interpret current research literature to support evidence-based practice.
• Support the development and delivery of staff education and competency programs.
• Participate in program development, quality improvement, and departmental initiatives.

Mentorship & Supervision

• Provide supervision and guidance to Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs), students, trainees, and volunteers.
• Delegate patient interventions appropriately while ensuring competency and quality standards are maintained.
• Participate in staff orientation, training, and professional development activities.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant patient documentation.
• Participate in regulatory readiness activities and continuous performance improvement initiatives.
• Assist with equipment management and maintenance of therapeutic resources.

Qualifications

Required

• Current Maryland Physical Therapist license, or ability to obtain prior to hire.
• Current CPR certification.
• Master's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a physical therapy practice setting.
• Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Preferred

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree.
• Advanced training, continuing education, specialty certification, or recognized expertise in a clinical area.
• Experience treating children and/or adults with developmental and acquired disabilities.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and transfer patients and therapeutic equipment up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to provide hands-on physical therapy interventions and assessments.
• Ability to travel between program locations as needed.

Working Conditions

• Primarily onsite clinical environment.
• Occasional work outside regularly scheduled hours as needed.
• Potential exposure to communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, and challenging patient situations.

USD $83,949.00/Yr.

Maximum pay range

USD $108,245.00/Yr.
