ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
*  Collects blood samples ensuring proper patient identification and labeling of samples.
*  Reliable and punctual attendance is essential; expected to be at job as scheduled each scheduled day.
*  Communicate necessary information to others as appropriate.
*  Collection of blood from surrounding nursing facilities.
*  Follows hospital policies and procedures for transporting/delivering samples from offices to the laboratory.
*  Maintains strict quality control for procedures.
*  Provides age and culturally appropriate care.
*  Maintains needed equipment and supplies.
*  Orients and mentors new staff members and students.
*  Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
*  Along with patient collection and obtaining specimens for processing, you’ll pack, ship and prepare specimens to be sent to          references labs.
*  Provide additional help in other areas of the laboratory including answering phones and general customer service
*  Ability to float to Hospital, Redlands or Fruita office draw station for coverage as needed.
*  Ability to perform work that requires occasional stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, climbing, overhead lifting, Frequent               standing, walking, lifting, grasping and repetitive motion, lifting up to 50 pounds.
*  Competently operate Laboratory Information System (LIS)

EDUCATION, LICENSE, CERTIFICATION and EXPERIENCE:
1.  Education  High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
2.  Licenses    No Professional License required.
3.  Certifications   Phlebotomy Certification from an accredited agency (ex. ASCP) preferred.
4.  Experience   1 year related experience required. Experienced with pediatric blood collection required. Completion of and                  approved phlebotomy training course (or equivalent)

Wage starts at $19.00 plus 15% for PRN and goes up based on experience
