How you'll Contribute

A Certified Pharmacy Technician who excels in this role:

• Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems.
• Fills medication carts on a daily basis.
• Prepares orders and maintains inventory for the pharmacy department.
• Repackages bulk medications.
• Assists the pharmacist in providing distributive pharmacy services and support.
• Maintains accurate medication handling and inventory practices.
• Supports safe and efficient pharmacy operations.

What we're looking for

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Licenses & Certifications

• Proof of current CPhT standing and Kentucky Board of Pharmacy Registration required.
• Successful completion of the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technician (ICPT) national certification examination required within six months of hire or transfer.

Experience

• Institutional pharmacy or medical experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Reads and writes basic English with the skills necessary to accurately transcribe physician orders.
• Ability to listen, empathize, and respond to the needs of patients, families, and internal and external partners.
• Ability to work effectively under stressful situations.
• Knowledge of universal precautions and isolation standards.
• Basic computer skills.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
