Flexible Scheduling That Works With Your Availability

One of the benefits of working in home care is the ability to provide us with the days and times you are regularly available to work.

During the hiring process, you tell us your ongoing availability, including the days, hours, and areas of Orange County you are available to work. Our Scheduling Team then works to match you with available client assignments that fit within that availability.

We have a variety of client schedules, including:

• Morning and daytime shifts
• Afternoon and evening shifts
• Overnight care
• Weekend opportunities
• Shorter and longer shifts
• Ongoing recurring client schedules
• Additional shifts for caregivers looking for more hours

Consistency is important. Because our clients and families depend on reliable care, caregivers are expected to provide realistic availability and maintain the regular availability they provide to Amada.

Specific shifts and hours depend on client needs and are not guaranteed, but our Scheduling Team works closely with caregivers to identify assignments that align with their stated availability, qualifications, and service area.

What You'll Do

As an Amada caregiver, you will provide one-on-one, non-medical care and support based on each client's individualized care plan.

Every client is different, which means your responsibilities may vary from one assignment to another.

Your duties may include:

• Assisting with bathing, showering, grooming, and personal hygiene
• Assisting with dressing and undressing
• Providing toileting and incontinence assistance
• Assisting with walking and mobility
• Providing transfer assistance using appropriate techniques and approved equipment
• Assisting clients in and out of beds, chairs, and wheelchairs
• Turning and repositioning clients
• Providing fall-prevention and safety supervision
• Preparing meals and snacks
• Assisting with eating and hydration when appropriate
• Providing medication reminders within the permitted scope of the position
• Providing companionship and meaningful conversation
• Engaging clients in activities, hobbies, and established routines
• Accompanying clients on walks or approved outings
• Completing client-related laundry and changing bed linens
• Performing light housekeeping related to the client's care
• Maintaining a clean and safe client environment
• Encouraging independence whenever safely possible
• Observing and reporting changes in a client's condition
• Following individualized care plans and safety instructions
• Accurately documenting care and services provided
• Using company-approved technology for scheduling, timekeeping, and documentation
• Communicating professionally with clients, families, and the Amada Care Team

Requirements

Requirements

Applicants must be able to meet the requirements applicable to their position and assigned clients, including:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must successfully complete applicable background check and fingerprinting requirements
• Must obtain and maintain an active California Home Care Aide (HCA) registration, when required
• Must meet applicable tuberculosis (TB) clearance requirements
• Must successfully complete Amada's required orientation and caregiver training program
• Must complete required ongoing caregiver training and education
• Must be able to understand and follow client care plans, safety instructions, and emergency procedures
• Must be comfortable providing hands-on personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, incontinence care, mobility assistance, and transfers as required by the client's care plan
• Must be able to communicate professionally with clients, families, supervisors, and members of the Amada Care Team
• Must be able to use a smartphone and company-approved applications for scheduling, timekeeping, communication, and documentation
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to reliably report to accepted client assignments
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation

Transportation Requirements

Because care is provided in clients' private homes throughout Orange County, caregivers must be able to reliably travel to their assigned client locations.

For assignments requiring driving or transportation, requirements may include:

• Valid driver's license
• Reliable transportation
• Current automobile insurance meeting applicable requirements
• Acceptable driving record

Physical Requirements

Depending on the client assignment, caregivers may be required, with or without reasonable accommodation, to:

• Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 pounds
• Assist clients with walking and mobility
• Assist with transfers using appropriate techniques and approved equipment
• Support clients who may be partial weight-bearing
• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Bend, kneel, squat, twist, and reach
• Assist clients in and out of beds, chairs, wheelchairs, showers, bathtubs, and vehicles
• Turn and reposition clients
• Perform repetitive movements associated with personal care
• Maintain sufficient physical stamina to safely perform assigned duties

Caregivers must follow all established safety procedures, training, and client-specific care plans. Any task or transfer that cannot be completed safely should be promptly reported to the Amada Care Team.

Scheduling & Availability

You tell us when you are available, and we work to match you with clients who need care during those times.

During the hiring and onboarding process, you will provide your regular ongoing availability, including:

• The days of the week you are available
• The hours you are available each day
• Whether you are available for daytime, evening, overnight, and/or weekend shifts
• The areas of Orange County you are available to work
• The approximate number of hours you are interested in working each week

Our Scheduling Team uses your stated availability to identify and offer client assignments that align with your availability, qualifications, location, and client needs.

Maintaining Your Availability

Consistency in your stated availability is an important requirement of this position.

Caregivers are expected to:

• Provide accurate and realistic availability when hired
• Maintain the regular availability provided at the time of hire
• Be available for appropriate client assignments offered within their stated availability
• Communicate promptly with the Scheduling Team regarding available assignments
• Follow company procedures when requesting a change to regular availability
• Provide appropriate advance notice when requesting an ongoing availability change
• Maintain reliable and punctual attendance for accepted assignments
• Arrive on time and remain for the full scheduled shift

Our clients and families depend on consistent care, and caregiver schedules are developed around the availability provided to Amada. Applicants should only provide days and times that they can realistically and consistently maintain.

Significant changes or reductions in availability may affect the client assignments and hours that are available to the caregiver.

Because home care schedules are based on individual client needs, providing availability does not guarantee a specific number of hours, schedule, shift, or client assignment. Available assignments may change as client needs change.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required for every assignment, we value candidates with:

• Previous professional caregiving experience
• Experience working with seniors
• CNA, HHA, or other relevant caregiving or healthcare experience
• Dementia or memory-care experience
• Experience assisting with activities of daily living
• Experience with mobility assistance and safe transfer techniques
• Weekend, evening, or overnight availability
• Flexible availability and interest in additional hours
• Strong communication and documentation skills
