Crossroads School, a program of Crossroads Continuum, is seeking a compassionate and dependable Per Diem School Nurse to join our team supporting students with autism.

We are currently looking for a nurse who can work a regular weekly shift on Thursdays from 7:30 AM–3:00 PM. While Thursday is our preferred day, we may be able to offer flexibility for the right candidate based on availability and the needs of our nursing team.

We would also love to find someone who has the flexibility to pick up additional shifts when our other school nurses are out due to planned time off or unexpected absences. This is a great opportunity for a nurse looking for a consistent weekly schedule with the potential for additional per diem hours.

What You'll Do

As a School Nurse at Crossroads, you will help ensure the health, safety, and well-being of our students throughout the school day. Responsibilities may include:

• Providing nursing care and responding to students' medical needs throughout the day
• Administering medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and school protocols
• Supporting students with medical needs such as seizure disorders, asthma, and severe allergies
• Maintaining accurate health and nursing documentation
• Collaborating with our nursing, educational, clinical, and direct-care teams
• Communicating with families and other providers as appropriate
• Supporting student health and safety during local field trips and community activities
• Providing additional coverage for other members of the nursing team when available

About Our Students

Crossroads School serves students ages 6–22 with autism and related needs. Some students have significant communication, sensory, behavioral, and medical support needs. Many of our students are nonverbal or use alternative forms of communication and receive individualized 1:1 support throughout their school day.

Our nurses are an important part of the interdisciplinary team and help make it possible for students to safely participate in learning, therapies, community activities, and everything else their school day has to offer.

Who We're Looking For

• Registered Nurse (RN) 
• Experience in school nursing, pediatrics, autism services, developmental disabilities, or a related setting is a plus
• Comfortable supporting students with a variety of medical, communication, sensory, and behavioral needs
• Compassionate, patient, dependable, and able to remain calm in a dynamic school environment
• Able to collaborate effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Ideally available Thursdays from 7:30 AM–3:00 PM, with flexibility to pick up additional coverage when possible. We require two full weeks (M-F) of training before transitioning to one day a week regular schedule.
