Job Summary:

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is recruiting a Pediatric Allergist/Immunologist to join our growing team. We are looking for candidates with a track record of clinical excellence and academic contributions as demonstrated through training and/or practice experience.

• This position is full or part-time, 50%-100%

• This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location.

• This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.

• Applicants for this position will be considered for the titles: Assistant Professor (CHS), Associate Professor (CHS), Professor (CHS), Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor. The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Opportunities to participate and lead clinical research in allergy/immunology related areas collaboratively with other SMPH faculty.

• Physicians hired on the Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) track will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

• Clinical expectations include providing outpatient clinical care for pediatric patients with allergic diseases, asthma, positive newborn SCID screens, inborn errors of immunity, and inpatient consultations for patients admitted to the American Family Children’s Hospital.

• Participate in clinical teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students, and support the teaching and clinical research in Pediatric Allergy-Immunology missions of the division and department.

Members of the Division of Allergy, Immunology, and Rheumatology provide state-of-the-art care to children with immune-mediated disorders such as allergies, asthma, inborn errors of immunity, and rheumatologic diseases. Our experts are committed to understanding the causes of these diseases and using this information to prevent and develop better treatments. We envision a circular pipeline of discovery from the bedside to the laboratory and back to the clinic, leveraging the strengths of the broader UW–Madison research community and applying cutting-edge technology to achieve new and personalized treatments for children. In addition, division faculty provide integrated and conjoint clinical and research training in pediatric and adult allergy and immunology that includes both research and clinical medicine that will result in improved patient care and the development of future clinicians and academicians. Our nationally known research team has conducted over 400 studies in allergies and asthma, and participates in several consortium focused on understanding risk for development of allergic diseases and natural history of inborn errors of immunity.

Madison is the second largest city in the state, with a city population of approximately 280,000 and a regional population of over 1 million. The city is within easy driving distance of Chicago and Milwaukee. Madison's technology economy is growing rapidly, and the region is home to the headquarters of Epic Systems, Exact Sciences, and Promega, as well as many biotech, health care IT, and health systems startups. Compensation:

Negotiable, 12 month

Required Qualifications:

• Board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics through the American Board of Pediatrics or equivalent is required by the appointment start date.

• Board certified or board eligible in Allergy-Immunology through the American Board of Allergy-Immunology is required by the appointment start date.

• Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Allergy-Immunology is required by the appointment start date.

• Completion of an ACGME-approved pediatric residency program is required.

• The candidate is required to have a Wisconsin medical license by the appointment start date.

• Must be eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges by the appointment start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

• For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on the CHS or CT Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS or CT Track.

Education:

MD, DO, or equivalent is required
