PedalPower Kids School Programs Coach

PedalPower Kids’ (PPK) mission is to build confident kids on bikes, and beyond! We’re an inclusive environment and our motto is that you CAN ride with us! We believe that confidence and proficiency develop together when kids feel safe, encouraged, and motivated by the PedalPower Kids Coaching Team. 

As a School Programs Coach, you’ll bring PedalPower Kids’ bike and pedestrian safety education programs directly into local schools. Our school programs focus on helping students understand how to ride, walk, and navigate their communities safely and confidently.

You’ll lead engaging, age-appropriate safety lessons and activities for students during the school day. Programs may take place both indoors and outdoors and are designed to make bike and pedestrian safety education active, practical, and fun.

This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with groups of children, is comfortable leading activities and presenting to students, and is passionate about helping kids become safer and more confident around bikes, roads, and their communities.

You do not need to be an experienced bike instructor to apply. We provide training on our curriculum, teaching approach, and safety procedures. We’re looking for educators, coaches, youth professionals, and enthusiastic individuals who are excited to learn and make a difference in the lives of kids.

Requirements

• Experience working with children required; teaching, coaching, camp, childcare, or education experience is a plus
• Bike experience is desired, but not required
• Must be available on weekdays during the school day for school-based programs
• Eager to learn, self-motivated, dependable, and mature
• Loves to be busy and finds ways to be helpful without being asked
• Reliable transportation to and from program locations
• Able to lift 30 pounds comfortably, run and ride with program participants, and work in a variety of weather conditions
• Able to pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting

What You’ll Do

• Lead and support bike and pedestrian safety education programs for school-age children
• Create a safe, positive, and encouraging environment for every rider
• Follow PedalPower Kids’ coaching methodology and safety procedures
• Communicate professionally with school partners, families, and the PPK team
• Prepare equipment and help maintain an organized program environment
• Participate in required training and ongoing professional development
