PDM/PLM Systems Administrator

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a PDM/PLM Systems Administrator based in the United States.

This full-time remote role supports and enhances engineering data management systems across a complex, multi-tool environment.
You will administer key PDM/PLM platforms while partnering with Engineering, IT, Manufacturing, and business stakeholders.
The position plays an important role in maintaining data integrity, process consistency, governance, and system performance.
You will work across multiple CAD environments and support BOM, item master, and material management processes.
The role also involves troubleshooting, system improvements, upgrades, testing, migrations, and standardization initiatives.
Strong technical knowledge combined with effective stakeholder communication will be essential to success.
You will help strengthen engineering data processes while contributing to operational excellence and future digital transformation initiatives.

Accountabilities

• Administer, support, and maintain Autodesk Vault environments and related engineering data management systems.

• Support and interact with SolidWorks PDM (EPDM) and PTC Windchill environments.

• Collaborate with Engineering, IT, Manufacturing, and business stakeholders to address system and data management needs.

• Lead and contribute to system improvement, enhancement, development, and implementation initiatives.

• Maintain data quality, compliance, governance, and audit readiness across engineering data environments.

• Support structured data governance activities and promote consistent data management practices.

• Manage and support BOM, Item Master, and material master processes, ensuring alignment between engineering and downstream systems.

• Troubleshoot CAD and PDM/PLM issues across multiple platforms, including Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, and Eplan.

• Assist with system upgrades, testing, deployments, and related change-management activities.

• Develop and maintain system documentation, standards, procedures, and technical best practices.

• Support data migration, consolidation, cleansing, and standardization initiatives when required.

• Identify opportunities to improve system functionality, reliability, and user experience.

• Work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective system solutions.

• Participate in occasional travel to sites for key projects, system initiatives, or stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

• 3–4 years of relevant professional experience in PDM, PLM, engineering systems administration, or a related field.

• Proven hands-on experience administering Autodesk Vault and SolidWorks PDM (EPDM).

• Working knowledge of PTC Windchill and exposure to multiple PDM/PLM platforms within a multi-tool environment.

• Experience supporting a multi-CAD engineering environment.

• Strong understanding of engineering data structures and relationships.

• Practical knowledge of Bills of Materials (BOM), material management, and Item Master processes.

• Understanding of data governance, compliance, audit processes, and engineering data quality.

• Demonstrated experience supporting system enhancements, improvements, implementations, or upgrades.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across CAD, PDM, PLM, and related engineering systems.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple functions.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing engineering data and system changes.

• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining effective cross-functional communication.

• Willingness and ability to travel occasionally to project or stakeholder sites.

• Salary: $74,300–$102,200 USD annually, with the final offer based on relevant experience, qualifications, location, education, market data, and internal equity.
