About the Role:South Richmond Adult Day Care is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Aide (PCA) to join our caring team in Richmond, VA. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of adults who depend on us for support, dignity, and quality care every day.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene
- Support clients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation as needed
- Monitor and report changes in clients' physical or emotional condition to supervisory staff
- Engage clients in recreational, social, and therapeutic activities throughout the day
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding support, and hydration monitoring
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all program participants
- Document care provided and maintain accurate client records
Requirements:
- Prior experience as a PCA, CNA, HHA, or in a direct care/caregiving role preferred
- Genuine compassion and patience when working with elderly or disabled adults
- Ability to assist with physical tasks including lifting and transferring clients
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable work ethic
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
- High school diploma or GED required
