POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the law and order of Winter Park Resort parking areas.  This includes monitoring reserved, pay, and general public parking areas of the resort.  The position requires distributing parking warnings/tickets and handling parking/traffic conflicts in a professional, friendly manner.  This position coincides with the Traffic Hut Lead position.

WAGE

Hourly pay:  $20

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Daily enforcement of parking fees with use of License Plate Recognition (LPR) cameras mounted on enforcement vehicle and by use of hand- held tablets
• Monitor LPR camera operations in village garage
• Enforcement of all reserved parking and drop-off areas. Check for proper permits on vehicles parked in designated spots.
• Monitor T2 pay station equipment in pay parking lots and troubleshoot/repair equipment
• Monitor and repair all traffic gates and pedestals throughout base area
• Assist guests and employees with directions and information in a friendly, professional manner.  Effectively handle first-line conflicts and resolve problems.
• Be in constant communication with Traffic Hut Lead via hand-held radio for parking lot capacity updates, pay station repairs, and reprimanding any parking violators
• Assist in regular parking operations as needed
• Assists Traffic Hut Lead by giving breaks.  Must be able to perform all Traffic Hut Lead duties by working partial day or full day coverage in hut if needed.
• Advise supervisor regarding problems, safety issues, equipment defects, signage requirements, etc.

​PUBLIC AND EMPLOYEE SAFETY:

• Be alert for potential hazards involving vehicles, pedestrians, and equipment. Take responsible action to prevent accidents.
• Report and/or correct any unsafe conditions.
• Assist with the vehicle, public, and employee accidents as required. Follow accident reporting procedures.
• Snow & ice removal around pay stations and gates

EXTERNAL RELATIONS OR PARTNERS:

• Communicates with law enforcement and TOWP maintenance workers

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

• Reliable and motivated to work independently

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Able to drive in winter conditions
• Able to shovel snow & chop ice

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSING:

• Valid Driver’s License and clean MVR required.
• Competence in winter driving conditions
• Ability to learn troubleshooting and repairing of pay station and gate equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively; verbally and in writing. Must speak English fluently.
• Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgement and to act with discretion under varying conditions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the public, employees, Homeowners, Property Management personnel, Commercial Tenants, NSCD participants, Pay parking season pass holders, Resort staff, Service vendors, local law enforcement, and town of Winter Park workers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Capable of snow removal around pay stations
• Capable of driving in winter conditions

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

• Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to harsh and varying outside weather conditions. 
• May be subjected to harsh winter weather conditions
• Most of workday will be spent in a vehicle, entering & exiting to give out citations
• May work part of the day in traffic hut
• Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate.
