📍 The Role at a Glance

Position: Patient Navigator (Patient Support & Phlebotomy) – Hereditary Cancer Testing
Location: Greenwood Village, CO
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Employment: Full-Time | In-Person

What you'll be doing:

🩸 Collecting blood specimens for genetic testing
💬 Educating and supporting patients throughout the testing process
🤝 Building relationships with clinical teams and partner locations
📅 Coordinating scheduling, follow-ups, and patient cases
🧬 Helping patients understand hereditary cancer testing
🧠 Problem-solving when things don't go as planned
📋 Keeping documentation accurate and compliant

💙 What You'll Actually Do

🧑‍⚕️ Be the person patients can count on

You'll guide patients through the hereditary cancer testing process from start to finish.

That means:

Explaining testing, procedures, and next steps in a way patients can actually understand
Serving as a primary point of contact for patients
Conducting structured patient consultations
Answering questions and helping patients feel informed and supported
Following up to make sure patients don't get lost in the process

🤝 Work with clinical teams & partner sites

You'll work closely with providers, clinical teams, and partner locations to keep things running smoothly.

You'll:

Build strong relationships with partner-site staff and providers
Support day-to-day clinic workflows
Adapt to changing schedules and priorities
Act as a trusted extension of our partner clinics

📲 Own your patients' journey

You'll take ownership of patient cases and help move them forward.

You'll:

Coordinate scheduling and follow-ups
Identify barriers that could delay testing
Help resolve scheduling, insurance, and workflow issues
Keep communication timely and consistent

🩸 Put your clinical skills to work

You'll also provide hands-on clinical support, including:

Performing venipuncture and collecting blood specimens
Properly identifying, labeling, handling, and transporting specimens
Following clinical and safety protocols
Maintaining accurate EMR/EHR documentation

🧬 Become a genetic testing expert

You'll develop knowledge in:

Hereditary cancer testing
Genetic testing workflows
Patient eligibility
Insurance verification and authorization
Clinical documentation and compliance
HIPAA requirements

👀 What We're Looking For

Required

Nationally certified phlebotomist with strong venipuncture skills
2+ years of clinical experience in a front-office or back-office setting
2+ years of experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations
Current BLS certification
Experience with diagnostic or genetic specimen collection
Strong communication and patient-service skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation if travel is required

Bonus Points ⭐

You may be a great fit if you also have:

CMA or RMA certification
2+ years in an outpatient clinic or patient service center
Experience in genetics, oncology, women's health, or specialty diagnostics
Experience working with EMR/EHR systems
High-touch, patient-facing healthcare experience
An interest in growing your career in healthcare, diagnostics, or clinical operations
