Transport Refrigeration, Inc. is hiring an experienced Parts Lead to help oversee daily parts operations at our Oak Creek, WI location.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows how to identify and source parts, manage inventory, serve customers and technicians, coordinate daily priorities, and keep a parts department organized and running efficiently.

🧰 What You'll Do

Parts Identification & Customer Support

Identify and look up parts using parts catalogs, diagrams, equipment model numbers, and serial numbers
Assist customers at the parts counter and by phone with parts identification, availability, and orders
Help service technicians identify, locate, and obtain the parts they need to complete repairs
Process customer and technician parts orders accurately and efficiently

Ordering & Inventory

Order parts from multiple vendors for stock and customer-specific orders
Check availability, place orders, and follow up on backorders and delayed shipments
Receive incoming parts, verify quantities and part numbers, and record receipts in the inventory system
Assign and maintain accurate bin locations and label shelves/bins so parts can be located quickly
Maintain organized, clean, and accurate parts inventory
Perform cycle counts and annual physical inventories
Investigate inventory discrepancies and make necessary corrections
Identify excess or slow-moving inventory and recommend stocking adjustments

Daily Parts Operations

Lead daily workflow and help set priorities for the Parts Department
Coordinate work among Parts team members and help ensure customer and technician needs are handled promptly
Train and assist coworkers with parts processes, systems, and procedures
Process warranty parts, vendor returns, and core exchanges
Pick, distribute, and record parts for technician service orders
Handle C.O.D. transactions and cashier responsibilities
Load and unload trailers using a forklift
Deliver parts to customers and vendors and pick up special orders
Assemble A/C hoses, custom kits, and OEM product builds
Support shipping by boxing parts, creating labels, and preparing orders

🧠 What We're Looking For

Required Experience & Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience working in a parts department, parts counter, inventory, or similar role
Experience identifying and looking up parts using catalogs, diagrams, model numbers, and serial numbers
Experience assisting customers and technicians with parts identification and sourcing
Experience ordering parts from multiple vendors, including stock and customer orders
Experience receiving parts, verifying quantities/part numbers, and recording receipts in an inventory system
Experience maintaining bin locations, labels, and organized parts inventory
Experience performing cycle counts and physical inventories and investigating discrepancies
Demonstrated ability to lead coworkers, set priorities, coordinate daily work, and train others
Strong customer service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Basic computer skills and ability to learn internal systems, including MAS
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Forklift experience or willingness to become certified
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the department

Experience in any of the following environments is a plus:

Heavy truck or trailer dealership
Heavy equipment dealership
Automotive dealership or repair facility
Equipment rental company
Transport refrigeration or Thermo King dealership

Also preferred:

Warranty parts processing
Vendor returns and core exchanges
Identifying excess or slow-moving inventory and recommending stocking changes
Experience with truck, trailer, diesel, refrigeration, or equipment parts
