Part Time Store Associate

Overview

The Part Time Store Associate is responsible for creating optimum service for customers while maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organized lumber yard. The associate must greet customers, answer calls, create load and material lists, load and unload building supplies, stock product and maintain other sales related activities. The associate will perform other duties as assigned by store management to help the daily operations of the store.

This position is a part-time role paid out at $16-18hr.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Store/Yard Maintenance
• Load and unload lumber and building supplies
• Provide service to customers
• Build loads for delivery
• Create material lists
• Keep lumber yard clean and organized

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
This position involves working indoors and sometime outdoors. Cashiers frequently work near moving mechanical parts
and sometimes in high precarious places. There is exposure to vibrations, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, and weather conditions, including rain, humidity, extreme heat, and extreme cold.

Physical DemandsThis position involves frequent standing, walking, use of hands, reaching, talking, listening, stooping, kneeling, crouching, feeling, climbing, balancing, crawling and lift to 80 pounds. This position will rarely sit. Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a part-time position. Hours of work depends on hours of operations, willing to work 20 hours per week. May require working irregular and/or extended hours. TravelLimited travel is expected for this position.

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information to others one-on-one
• Inventory and Order processing Software
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work within a team

Preferred Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training
