Overview
Auburn University at Montgomery Campus Police Department invites applications for a part- time Police Dispatcher.
All employees at AUM are considered to be Responsible Employees and have the duty to immediately report information that has the potential to adversely impact safety or wellness on our campus.
The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) requires public educational institutions to collect and maintain certain safety and crime information. Due to the role this position plays on our campus, this position has been identified as being a Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSAs are individuals designated by the University with responsibility for supervising or ensuring safety of others (including student employees in the course of their employment duties) and have a duty to report crimes observed or reported to them.

Responsibilities
- Receive, relay, and/or transmit routine and emergency calls to police, fire, and other public agencies.
- Maintain log of radio transmissions, telephone calls, and other information.
- Maintain incident reports of criminal activity or complaints; assist in ticket administration.
- Monitor fire alarm system.
- Issue parking decals.
Qualifications
Education equivalent to completion of high school.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of radio 10-codes and appropriate radio communication guidelines
Knowledge of law enforcement jargon
Knowledge of AUM Police Department procedures and policies
Ability to operate communications equipment
Ability to write and maintain reports
Ability to communicate with other public agencies
Ability to respond to multiple competing demands
Ability to speak clearly and provide clear and concise instructions to others

The Experiential Education and Engagement Center (EEEC) is an on-campus resource that works to find new experiential learning opportunities for students, focusing mainly on service-learning, undergraduate research, and internships.
Working in collaboration with AUM campus partners, the EEEC’s goal is to help students become more engaged and connected to campus and community. This helps students:
-Create networks among professionals in the workplace, employers, faculty members, and other students.
-Develop career skills and competencies with hands-on learning projects that add value to the student’s degree program and enhances the student’s resume and/or portfolio.
-Enjoy a more complete and engaging university experience that leads to more career focus and readiness for the job market.
-In addition to supporting faculty and staff in integrating experiential learning into their courses, the EEEC has a peer mentor program whereby students who excel in an academic area can mentor a student who may have difficulty in that subject. Peer mentors are paid positions.
AUM announced the creation of the Experiential Education and Engagement Center (EEEC) in 2019 through a $2.16 million, Title III “Strengthening Institutions” grant awarded from the U.S. Department of Education. Over the next five years, the grant will support the center’s staffing and AUM’s efforts to improve student retention and persistence to graduation–objectives that will be realized through increased student engagement and faculty development, in collaboration with the Faculty Development Institute (FDI).
