The Blinn College District is searching for a Part Time Instructor - Psychology - Dual Credit at our Bryan Campus.

Job Summary 

The Part-Time Psychology Instructor position provides high-quality instruction in psychology courses while supporting student learning, engagement, and academic success. Responsibilities include teaching assigned courses, maintaining accurate records, assessing student performance, and adhering to college policies and curriculum standards. The ideal candidate demonstrates a commitment to student-centered teaching, effective communication, and collaboration with faculty and campus partners to support the institution's educational mission.

Principal Accountabilities

• Teach assigned psychology courses in accordance with approved curriculum, course outcomes, and institutional standards.
• Foster an engaging, inclusive learning environment that supports student achievement and academic success.
• Develop, administer, and evaluate assignments, exams, and other assessments in a timely and equitable manner.
• Be available to students through office hours, email, or other approved communication methods to address questions and academic concerns.
• Comply with all institutional policies, academic regulations, and reporting requirements.
• Effectively use the institution's learning management system and other instructional technologies to support teaching and communication.

Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications

• Possess a driver's license to facilitate travel to different campuses as necessary to support the department's schedule of course offerings.
• College teaching experience desirable.
• Master's degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Psychology is required.
• Previous experience teaching Introductory Psychology, Lifespan Growth and Development, Statistical Methods, and/or Social Psychology.

Minimum Competencies

• Demonstrates foundational knowledge of psychology and the ability to teach introductory and specialized psychology topics accurately.
• Ability to deliver clear, organized, and engaging instruction that supports student learning and achievement.
• Effectively communicates complex concepts both verbally and in writing to diverse student populations.
• Competence in using learning management systems, educational technology, and common office software to support instruction and communication.
• Ability to establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and productive learning environment. 
• Works effectively with department leadership, colleagues, staff, and students while adapting to changing instructional and institutional needs.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching in K-12 environment is preferred.

Preferred Competencies

Demonstrates a commitment to fostering student success through accessibility, responsiveness, and support.

Ability to develop, administer, and evaluate assignments and assessments aligned with course learning outcomes.

Effectively manages instructional responsibilities, grading, reporting requirements, and communication within designated timelines.

Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and adherence to institutional policies, including FERPA and academic standards.

Certified in QM online teaching and course development is preferred.
