Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):

•    Clean and maintain public areas while assisting with guest room setup
•    Support room attendants by delivering necessary supplies and linens to guest rooms, helping streamline the cleaning process
•    Ensure all necessary housekeeping supplies, such as toiletries, cleaning agents, and linens, are stocked and replaced as needed to support the housekeeping team
•    Safely and efficiently operate cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners and floor polishers, following standard operating procedures to maintain cleanliness standards
•    Identify any maintenance issues or damages in hotel areas and report them promptly to the appropriate department for timely resolution
•    Helps deliver linen to storage
•    Promptly attend to and resolve any guest requests related to housekeeping services, ensuring high levels of guest satisfaction
•    Assist in delivering linens and supplies to storage areas, room attendants, ensuring they are organized and ready for use
•    Follow all safety and security protocols to maintain a safe working environment for guests and colleagues
•    Work closely with team members to achieve departmental goals and deliver exceptional laundry services
•    Maintain hotel standards by managing housekeeping tasks to meet guest expectations, which includes handling lost and found items and ensuring the privacy and security of guest belongings
•    Follow environmentally friendly practices and procedures to contribute to the hotel's sustainability initiatives

Other Essential Duties: (Continued)

•    Attends hotel and department meetings and other functions required by management
•    Communicates all pertinent information to Housekeeping Supervisor and/or Executive Housekeeper
•    Must be available to work weekends and holidays
•    Arrives to work on time, ready to clock in, in a clean/pressed uniform and non-slip shoes
•    Must maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
•    Wears name tag at all times when at work
•    Must be attentive, courteous and efficient at all times when dealing with the guests and co-workers
•    Comply at all times with compliance standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
•    Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow employees and other departments within the hotel in such a manner that promotes harmony and goodwill throughout the workplace
•    Be familiar with all policies and hotel rules, and hotel terminology
•    Must be capable of self-supervision and have the ability to manage time accordingly in order to complete the required work
 Qualifications•    A minimum of 1 year of progressive experience in hotel housekeeping
•    Minimum age requirement of 18 years

Knowledge and Skills: 

•    Proficiency in multitasking is essential
•    Ability to meet the needs of others in a dynamic and fast-paced setting
•    Possess a friendly demeanor and the ability to address guest requests and concerns promptly and courteously
•    Proficiency in using housekeeping equipment and supplies, including vacuum cleaners, mops, and cleaning tools

•    Capability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy items, bending, and standing for extended periods
•    Knowledge of safety protocols for handling and using cleaning chemicals safely to maintain a secure environment
•    Ability to keep track of housekeeping supplies, restock as necessary, and maintain an organized and efficient work area
 
Reasoning Ability:   
The Houseperson must have strong reasoning skills to make sound decisions and prioritize tasks, ensuring cleanliness in guest areas and public spaces. They need to quickly adapt to changes, assist room attendants with special requests, and address issues during their shift. Their support is vital in stocking supplies and preparing rooms for guests, contributing to efficient housekeeping services.
