Description

Position Summary 

Cleaning and preparation of buildings to provide Camp users with clean facilities and supplies to make their stay at Camp a positive experience. This includes maintaining the cleanliness of our 50+ cabins, conference centers, dining halls, multiple meeting rooms, camp offices, and other buildings as needed. The work we do requires a fast paced environment while ensuring thorough cleaning of all living and dining spaces. 

Availability:  

We have part-time and full-time hours available. We typically work 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 7 days a week. Let us know your availability. 

**Must be able to successfully pass a National Background check

**Must be at least 18 years old

**Indiana Driver's license and clean driving record preferred

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Our Housekeeping Team plays an important role in creating a welcoming experience at Camp Tecumseh. We are looking for dependable, detail-oriented team members who enjoy working with others and take pride in transforming a used space into a clean, comfortable, and welcoming space for our next guests.

You don't have to come to us as a cleaning expert. We are looking for people who are willing to work hard, learn our cleaning standards, support their teammates, and take pride in a job well done.

What You'll Do

• Work alongside a team to clean and prepare cabins, bathrooms, dining halls, meeting spaces, offices, and other Camp buildings.
• Help turn over guest spaces between groups, making sure each space is clean, organized, and ready to welcome the next guests.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, clean windows, sanitize surfaces, remove trash, and complete other general cleaning.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, showers, and other high-use areas.
• Complete deeper cleaning projects when needed.
• Help set up, clean, and reset meeting rooms and guest spaces.
• Assist with Camp laundry, including washing, drying, folding, sorting, and organizing linens.
• Care for cleaning equipment and return supplies and equipment to their proper places after use.
• Help monitor cleaning supplies and let your supervisor know when items need to be restocked.
• Respond as a team when unexpected cleaning needs arise, such as spills, broken glass, or guest needs.
• Report damaged property or maintenance concerns so they can be addressed quickly.
• Turn in and report any lost-and-found items discovered while cleaning.
• Assist with opening and closing cabins and buildings as needed.

Required Education/License/Certification/Physical Demands

• Must be able to pass routine and regular criminal background checks as a requirement of continued employment
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be highly motivated, and able to work on a team. 
• This position does require an individual to work independently; ability to exercise judgment and make decisions without direct supervision at times is needed. 
• Must be able to lift, bend, twist, stoop, and have good hand dexterity
• Ability to push and pull loads, good physical health including ability to lift and carry objects up to 40 pounds in weight
• Be able to roll 6’ round tables 
• Must be able to stand for 8 hours per day; may be asked to work more than an eight-hour some days or weekends
• Must be able to be in presence of cleaning chemicals and other hazards; individuals with respiratory problems should not apply. PPE provided
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and converse with employees, maintain a stationary position (standing and sitting), move/traverse, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time. 
• The worker may be required to operate in close quarters, crawl spaces, small rooms, and narrow aisles and passageways.
