About Our Family

We're a creative, tech-industry household with two school-age daughters and two Maine Coon kittens who've quickly made themselves at home. Life here is lively, colorful, and full of Legos, art projects, impromptu dance parties, and the kind of cheerful clutter that comes with a family that's busy making memories. Both parents work hybrid schedules in the games industry, so while weekdays have a rhythm, the overall vibe is playful, imaginative, and never too serious.

We've built some great household systems over the years and we're good at the big-picture planning. Where we'd love support (and suggestions) in creating a bit more consistency in the day-to-day. We'd love someone who enjoys keeping things humming along: staying ahead of the dishes, folding and putting away laundry, planning simple, healthy meals, helping prep dinner before everyone gets hungry, and resetting the house so it feels calm instead of chaotic. The goal isn't perfection—it's creating enough structure that we can spend more time enjoying each other and less time catching up.

This is a warm, inclusive, and completely non-judgmental home. We embrace a "you do you" philosophy and are looking for someone who brings positivity, flexibility, and a genuine love of family life. If you thrive in a lived-in household that's full of laughter, creativity, growing kids, and the occasional stray sock, you'll feel right at home here. We're simply looking for someone who can help bring a little more rhythm to our day, helping cut down on decision fatigue all while preserving all the fun that makes our family who we are.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is someone who walks into a room and just sees what needs to happen and jumps right in. You're organized and tidy in a way that comes naturally to you, and you genuinely enjoy bringing order to a household that runs on creativity and good intentions. You're flexible, proactive, and comfortable with a bit of controlled chaos.

You read the room well, especially on days when both parents are heads-down on work calls and are also comfortable reaching out if you don’t know the answer. You communicate openly and warmly, you ask questions when you need to, and you build real relationships with the families you support. Looking nad planning ahead is in your wheel house and you are thinking of things like holidays, trips and events before we are. You're non-judgmental, progressive-minded, and bring a calm, capable energy that makes a household hum.

You are someone who embraces creativity, enjoys meal prep and creating warm and welcoming spaces.

Key Responsibilities

Meal Support

  • Plan and prepare approximately three dinners per week, ranging from ingredient prep to full execution
  • Proactively thaw proteins and prep produce so weeknight cooking is easy
  • Prep school lunches and healthy snacks
  • Chop and process fruits and vegetables to keep ready-to-use items on hand
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and daily clean-up
  • Note: one household member has a scallop allergy; all other meals are unrestricted

Laundry & Linens

  • Take over full family laundry from current laundry service: wash, fold, and organize/return items to the right rooms using the family's preferred detergents
  • Manage linen rotation including towels and kids' bedding (bunk bed rooms need particular attention)
  • Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked

Household Organization & Maintenance

  • Reset home daily: dishes, surfaces, tidying, putting items back where they belong
  • Prep home ahead of biweekly cleaner visits
  • Create and maintain household organization systems, especially around common clutter areas
  • Conduct seasonal swaps (outdoor cushions, minimal holiday decor, bedding transitions)
  • Care for indoor plants
  • Proactively monitor home maintenance needs: batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, etc.
  • Provide packing and unpacking support for family travel
  • Coordinate donation drop offs

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

  • Occasional deep cleans: fridge, oven, baseboards
  • Refresh mudroom, entry, and garage areas
  • Clean humidifiers and air purifiers
  • Tackle organizational projects as kids age out of toys, books, and gear, including attic space

Inventory & Errands

  • Monitor and restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies
  • Manage running shopping lists (family uses Alexa and Instacart); coordinate shared orders and flag when items need restocking
  • Handle incoming mail and packages; break down boxes
  • Occasional returns or errands as needed

Pet Care

  • Feed cats wet food morning and evening; keep dry food and water topped off; add vitamins to morning feeding
  • Schedule vet and grooming appointments
  • Manage Chewy subscription and keep pet supplies stocked

  • Provide backup pickup or drop-off support as needed (rare)
  • Event and appointment coordination
