Job Title: Part Time House Manager / Family Assistant

Employment Type: Part-time, 16–20 hours per week

Schedule:

• 4-5 days per week, with flexible morning or afternoon scheduling
• Shifts typically 4–5 hours, depending on the number of days worked

Compensation: $25-$30/hour, commensurate with experience

Start Date: ASAP; flexibility for the right candidate

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Reliable personal transportation; mileage reimbursement provided for use of personal vehicle.
• Fragrance-free.
• Up to date on recommended vaccinations in line with American Academy of Pediatrics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines (MMR, TDAP), subject to applicable legal accommodations.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.

We are a busy, dynamic household in West Fort Worth anchored by a hardworking mom who runs a fast-paced career from home and a spirited, self-sufficient preteen who keeps the week full of activity. Life here moves quickly: there are calls to jump on, school pickups to coordinate, practices to account for, and a household that deserves more attention than there are hours in the day. We are a warm, low-drama home that values independence, creativity, and efficiency. The household already has great bones: cleaners come regularly, lawn care is handled, and many supplies are automated, but what's needed is someone to manage everything in between and make the home feel consistently calm and organized.

Our ideal helper is someone who fits seamlessly into the rhythm of the house: working quietly and independently while we're on calls, taking initiative on what needs to be done, and communicating quickly via text when needed. We have some systems already in play that we would like for you to maintain, but there are plenty of areas that could use some reinvention and organization- that’s where you come in with excellent execution of new systems and support.

You are a highly organized, self-directed professional who takes real pride in running a household well. You ask questions instead of making assumptions, but you notice what needs doing without being told every time. You're comfortable working independently in a home where someone is hard at work; you don't need conversation to feel connected. You communicate efficiently and clearly, primarily over text, and you follow through without reminders. You're at ease around a preteen and can engage naturally with her when the situation calls for it. You're someone who effortlessly takes things off our plate so that the people in this home can spend their time on what matters most to them.

Key Responsibilities

Household Organization & Maintenance

• Maintain and support existing household organization systems; take on new organizational projects as needed (art supplies, guest room, garage, and similar areas)
• Daily light resets between cleaner visits: dishes, counters, surfaces
• Seasonal clothing swaps, including coordinating donation drop-offs and resale
• Indoor plant care and monitoring
• Small household maintenance tasks: replacing batteries, light bulbs, smoke detector checks
• Occasional light event and holiday prep (seasonal décor, hosting support)

Laundry & Linens

• Folding, hanging, and putting away clean laundry (washing is already managed)
• Ironing and steaming: weekly school uniform care and professional clothing
• Keep laundry area tidy and well-stocked

Meal Support

• Light meal prep: chopping, thawing, meal planning assistance to support home cooking
• Grocery shopping via home delivery or in-person with list (ideally transitioning away from delivery)
• Kitchen cleanup including hand-washing of knives, copper pans, and special mugs
• Monitor pantry and flag items that need restocking

Inventory & Errands

• In-person errands: Amazon returns, dry cleaning drop-off and pickup, gift shopping
• Mail and package handling; to include unboxing and breaking down/disposing of packages and shipping materials
• Monitor and manage household supply lists; assist with online orders and subscriptions

Family Support

• Backup school pickup as needed
• Light presence when our daughter is home; she is self-sufficient and handles her own responsibilities

Vendor & Property Oversight

• Coordinate with house cleaners and landscapers
• Schedule and oversee seasonal HVAC service (twice yearly)
• Research, coordinate, and obtain quotes for household repairs as needed
• Monitor vegetable garden irrigation and watering when client is traveling
• Pool maintenance support may be added in the future

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

• Occasional deep cleans such as fridge and oven
• Garage organization: sorting, donations, box breakdown
• Guest room: clear out and organize, recycle, and/or donate clothing and items that are no longer needed
• Seasonal décor: setup and storage

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support

• Calendar management via shared Google Calendar, including ensuring all relevant co-parenting parties receive appropriate invites and updates
• Schedule routine vehicle maintenance, inspections, and detailing
• Travel planning: research, bookings, and logistics coordination
• Receipt and budget tracking for household and job-related expenses
