Financial Assistant to the CFO

Job Category: Non-exempt Rate: $25 - $30 per hour
Job Status: Part -Time 20 hours/week Amount of Travel: Local errands
Work Schedule: Predominantly M-F, 8:00 - 5:00; flexibility in scheduling based on department needs

POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant to the CFO position will work directly with the CFO and the Business Office team, providing high-level administrative and financial support. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, efficient, detail-oriented, and financially proficient, with strong financial acumen and demonstrated experience working with budgets, financial analysis, financial reporting, and spreadsheets. The position requires a high degree of accuracy, sound judgement, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a high-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide administrative and clerical support, including, file management and calendar organization.
- Professionally respond to phone calls, emails, and other correspondence.
- Maintain accurate financial spreadsheets using Excel or Google Sheets; strong Excel skills are required.
- Assist with the preparation, organization, and analysis of budgets, financial data, reports, and spreadsheets.
- Document and maintain office procedures guidelines.
- Research pricing, purchasing options, and other financial information as requested.
- Run on-campus and local errands as needed for the CFO.
- Provide support for projects and tasks involving the Business Office, IT, and Facilities, as needed.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and GoogleWorkspace.
- Strong financial acumen, with the ability to work effectively with budgets, financial data, spreadsheets, and numerical analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written skills, with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement.
- Flexible, collaborative, and eager to learn, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience.
Experience: Prior administrative, business office, finance, accounting, or related experience preferred. Experience working with budgets and financial data is highly desirable.
Computer Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and GoogleWorkspace is expected; experience with Blackbaud or similar financial systems is preferred.
