Part Time Faculty - Health, Fitness and Exercise Studies

Position Summary

Effectively teach health, fitness, exercise, and kinesiology subject matter to undergraduate students, including both Kinesiology majors and students across disciplines as part of Wellness General Education requirements. Courses may be face-to-face, live virtual, online or hybrid format, depending on the courses taught. Possible subjects include personal fitness, kinesiology, First Aid/CPR, community health, women's health, sports studies, and stress management.
Additionally, applicant may be needed to teach physical activity courses such as cardio fitness and weight training.

Pay rate is determined based on experience, certifications, and qualifications.

We are specifically looking for applicants who have availability to teach face-to-face courses.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Teach subject matter face-to-face, and manage grading of assignments and exams in Canvas learning management system;
Communicate with Academic Chair regarding student performance;
Maintain current knowledge of the professional discipline and current certifications;
Attend and participate in faculty meetings as well as program related activities as necessary;
Participate in periodic review and revision of course materials and learning outcomes assessments;
Maintain confidentiality of student information;
Prepare and maintain course outlines, objectives, and course syllabi as necessary;
Demonstrate skills to students and provide feedback where appropriate.

Required Qualifications:

Masters degree in Health, Human Performance, Kinesiology, or related field.
At least two years experience working in the health/fitness/wellness/sports field.
Hold academic and/or professional credentials appropriate to the subject content area taught.
Knowledgeable of course development, instruction, evaluation and academic advising.
Ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally through both verbal and written skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching (ideally adults).
