Role and Responsibilities

The Dental Assistant (DA) will be expected to assist the office as a whole, but primarily provide hands-on support to Dentists (and Hygienists as needed) to complete the necessary clinical procedures so our patients are efficiently cared for. 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

•  Four-handed dentistry with standard general dental procedures
•  Taking necessary diagnostics (EXAMPLE: Digital x-rays, impressions, IO photos, etc)
•  Provide comfort, compassion, and empaty to patients to help ease any dental anxiety
•  Be able to give verbal post operative instruction to patients as needed
•  Apply diagnosed treatment into patients chart for easy and accurate treatment presentation
•  Maintaining operatories to be stocked and clean at all times
•  Maintenance of dental equipment
•  Helping patients understand the value of their oral health and help them schedule appointments
•  Sterilization
• Follow and maintain OSHA standards

Requirements

• H.S. Diploma or equivalent
•  Dental assisting experience & knowledge of dental terminology
•  Knowledge of health and safety regulations (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA)
•  Have a flexible schedule
• Must be able to communicate effectively

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

• Knowledge of Eaflesoft
• Experience in periodontics, orthodontia, and pediatric dentistry
• Polishing/sealant certified
• Admin knowledge/experience
• Able to read an insurance benefit breakdown - Understanding of insurance clauses, frequencies and limitations

Compensation is based off experience.
