The Cashiers primary responsibility is to demonstrate the foundation of our service to each customer as they enter and leave the store, and support our mission statement creating an environment “where customers want to shop and employees want to work.” An enthusiastic, positive and supportive attitude is essential.

Major Responsibilities:

The major responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

• Ensure each customer receives outstanding service which follows the S.A.L.E.S. process and by mystery shop standards.

• Greet customers as they enter the store.

• Give 100% attention to the customer you are serving and always thank each customer for their business.

• Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of every position.

• Answer phone calls with proper greeting.

• Tactfully, professionally and pleasantly deal with customers.

• Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements.

• Accurately and efficiently ring on registers (Point of Sale Terminals) and maintain all cash at registers.

• Must scan every item at the point of sale 100% of the time no exceptions.

• Maintain orderly appearance of register area and supplies stocked.

• Call for backup cashiers when needed.

• Solicit customers to open an Ace Rewards card.

• Issuing receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customers by following policy and procedures.

• Responsive of safety issues.

• Conscious of shoplifting activity.

• Take returns to appropriate departments before each shift is over.

• Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits. Process sales or other transactions.

• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers. Issue money, credit, or vouchers.

• Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the store or the management team.

Pay Scale = $17.50 for Base Level. Levels 1-3 = $18.00-$21.50. Levels are based on performance.

Qualifications: The minimum requirements for this position include:

Ability to report to all scheduled shifts on time and ready to work.
Willingness to learn.
Positive attitude and ability to work well with the team.
Basic math skills for operating a register.
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of the business.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
