This is a hotel bar; some days may be busier than others.
Position Summary:
Bartenders play a crucial role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. As a bartender, your responsibilities include mixing and serving drinks, interacting with customers, taking orders, recommending beverages, and ensuring prompt, courteous service. You will maintain a clean and organized bar, restock supplies, clean glasses, and follow health and safety regulations. To excel, you must adhere to Hotel standards, possess knowledge of alcohol, cocktail recipes, and current drink trends. A successful bartender is skilled in drink-making, has excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and can multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Previous experience working as a bartender in a hotel or similar establishment
Strong knowledge of cocktail recipes, mixology techniques, and various cooking methods
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner
Familiarity with beverage cost control, inventory management, and food cost management
Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol)
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects such as kegs, cases of liquor, and kitchen supplies
Attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food and beverage service
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
Greeting and serving guests in a friendly and professional manner
Mixing and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes
Taking and processing drink orders accurately and efficiently
Maintaining a clean and organized bar and kitchen area, including stocking and replenishing supplies
Checking identification to verify legal drinking age
Handling cash and credit card transactions, including processing payments and providing change
Monitoring alcohol consumption and ensuring responsible service

Attends hotel and department meetings and other functions required by management
Adhere to all hotel policies and procedures to maintain a high standard of service
Communicates all pertinent information to management
Must be available to work weekends and holidays
Arrives to work on time, ready to clock in, in a clean/pressed uniform and non-slip shoes
Must maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
Wears name tag at all times when at work
Must be attentive, courteous and efficient at all times when dealing with the guests and co-workers
Comply at all times with compliance standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow employees and other departments within the hotel in such a manner that promotes harmony and goodwill throughout the workplace
Be familiar with all policies and hotel rules, and hotel terminology
Must be capable of self-supervision and have the ability to manage time accordingly in order to complete the required work
Must follow all safety and sanitation policies to ensure a clean and safe environment for guests and staff
QualificationsQualifications Requirements:
A minimum of 1 year of progressive experience in hotel bartending is required
Minimum age requirement of 21 years

Proficiency in multitasking is essential to handle bartending duties effectively.
Ability to meet the needs of others in a dynamic and fast-paced setting, whether serving drinks.
Possess a friendly demeanor and the ability to address guest requests and concerns promptly and courteously, ensuring a positive dining experience.
Proficiency in using kitchen and bar equipment, as well as cleaning supplies, to maintain a hygienic and organized workspace.
Understanding of restaurant safety and sanitation protocols to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for guests and staff.
Capability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods, common in bartending.
Knowledge of safety protocols to handle kitchen tools and chemicals safely.
Ability to keep track of bar supplies, restock as necessary, and maintain an organized work area.
