Field Enumerator – Part-Time

Starting Pay: $17.75/hour + Mileage Reimbursement + Company-Provided Electronic Device

The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) is seeking dependable individuals to serve as Field Enumerators. In this role, you'll collect important agricultural information directly from farmers, ranchers, and agricultural businesses.

No prior enumerator experience is required. Paid, on-the-job training is provided.

What You'll Do

As a Field Enumerator, you'll collect accurate and unbiased information that supports farmers, ranchers, rural communities, agricultural businesses, and government programs.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Conducting professional interviews with agricultural producers by telephone and in person.

• Collecting accurate information about farming operations, crops, livestock, and agricultural practices.

• Conducting crop counts and observing crop conditions in designated corn and soybean fields.

• Using a company-provided electronic device to accurately and promptly enter collected information.

• Maintaining daily records of work completed, hours worked, and mileage.

• Communicating professionally with people from a variety of backgrounds and agricultural operations.

• Protecting the confidentiality and privacy of information provided by agricultural producers.

• Following all NASDA policies and procedures regarding data security, confidentiality, and the proper handling of collected information.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for dependable, detail-oriented, and self-directed individuals who can work independently, manage their time effectively, communicate professionally, and consistently meet deadlines.

Agriculture or sales experience is helpful but not required.

Qualified candidates should be able to:

• Work independently while managing priorities and meeting deadlines.

• Work comfortably with a variety of people and personalities.

• Use basic math and computer skills.

• Manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy.

• Communicate clearly and professionally.

• Work with minimal supervision.

• Maintain strict confidentiality and safeguard information obtained from agricultural producers.

• Lift and carry up to 40 pounds.

• Walk unassisted on uneven terrain for up to 100 yards.

Schedule & Travel

This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule. Some evening and weekend work may be necessary to meet survey deadlines. Work hours may vary based on weather, seasonal farm activities, and community events.

Candidates must have:

• A private workspace with a functional telephone and minimal distractions.

• A reliable, well-maintained personal vehicle for work-related travel.

• The ability to travel up to 250 miles quarterly for training, as needed.

• The ability to effectively use computers and electronic devices.
