Job Description
About the Role:
As a Paramedic, you will play a critical role in providing basic and advanced life support during pre-hospital and interfacility transfer care to patients. Your primary responsibility will be to assess patients' conditions, administer appropriate treatments, and transport them safely to medical facilities. You will work closely with nurses, doctors, and other medical staff to ensure a coordinated response to medical emergencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current state certification as a Paramedic.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Current BLS, ACLS
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a pre-hospital emergency medical setting.
- Additional certifications such as ICS100, ICS700, and Mandated Reporter.
- Advanced certifications in areas such as PALS, or PHTLS.
- AVOC/EVOC - within 6 months of start date.
- PIFT (Paramedic Interfacility Transfer) Certification - will obtain upon hire.
Responsibilities:
- Perform patient assessments to determine the nature and extent of injuries or illnesses.
- Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and other emergency treatments as necessary in accordance to Maine State Protocols.
- Collaborate with other nurses, doctors, and hospital staff to coordinate care.
- Document patient care and maintain accurate records of treatments provided during transports.
