Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Paralegal to join our legal team on in-office basis. The ideal candidate will work closely with our attorneys to support a high volume of franchisor-related transactional matters, compliance matters and other departmental projects.  We are open to part-time to full time candidates.

Candidates should have extensive experience with drafting and reviewing legal documents, as well as strong organizational skills for managing legal files and documentation. The ideal candidate will possess excellent legal research excellent research skills, be able to multi-task several assignments under tight deadlines and be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Westlaw.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and maintain franchise agreements and legal documents.
• Prepare legal correspondence, reports and research materials for attorneys.
• Organize case files, spreadsheets, and document management systems.
• Assist with discovery requests, subpoenas and document production.
• Research legal, regulatory, and case-related issues and monitor relevant changes in law.
• Maintain organized archives for contracts and ongoing and completed matters.
• Conduct background screenings for prospective franchisees.
• Coordinate contract execution and obtain required signatures.
• Perform other legal and administrative support duties as needed.
• This role requires you to work in Dallas-based office.
• Part-time to Full time

Requirements and Qualifications

• Associate degree in paralegal studies required; bachelor’s degree preferred
• National certification, such as those offered by NALA or AACP, is a plus
• 2-3 years of significant and substantive litigation experience as a paralegal/legal assistant in a law firm or in-house setting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Westlaw
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• Experience drafting, cite-checking, and correcting legal correspondence
