Painting Studios TA

About the role

The Painting Studio TA helps maintain shared studio supplies, assists with the distribution of materials and their application during demonstrations, and collaborates with still-life preparation and painting supports for in-class projects. The TA also assists each class in hanging artwork in the CC200 corridor, which includes installing wires on paintings, basic tool use, and support with the math associated with hanging measurements in a cohesive group show. Finally, the TA may work with students who were absent during an in-class demo, helping them keep up with the course.

Qualifications

• Must be a current Bethel Student
• Be timely and responsible
• Must be willing to interact with and support other students learning.
• Willing to work independently.

Travel: This position does not require travel.

Work Environment:

This role will primarily be in the Painting Studios and sometimes in the Design Lab or Woodshop. Hand, ear, and eye protection will be provided when necessary.

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. Competent with basic hand tool use. Ability to be trained and safely handle materials, including chemicals.

Expected Hours of Work:

Approximately 4 hours per week.

Requirements fluctuate with the various projects and set up required for each class.
