Pack Supervisor

Job Details: Job Location: LC SP - Santa Paula, CA, Salary Range: $69000.00 - $80000.00Salary/year, Job Shift: Graveyard, SUMMARY: 

Reporting to the Pack Manager, the Pack Supervisor is responsible for managing Cost, Quality, Safety, Throughput, Continuous Improvement, Process Inspections, and Labor Management to meet the Packing house goals set by the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise, manage, assist, and schedule employees in the Pack Department.
Ensure Pack employees comply with company policies, best practices, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.
Plan and coordinate daily Pack activities, including crewing, carton and label availability, preventive maintenance, Line Checks, Control Points, and line start-ups.
Monitor line performance to meet or exceed carton output goals efficiently.
Ensure effective communication and collaboration with other departments to align plant-wide operations.
Maintain work areas in an audit-ready condition at all times.
Track inventory of consumables and communicate with Purchasing to maintain safe stock levels.
Supervise the fruit grading process to ensure correct fruit allocation and quality standards.
Communicate daily with Graders to maximize fruit utilization and minimize waste.
Conduct regular quality checks, walkthroughs, and report reviews to ensure compliance with safety, GMP, and food safety standards in the Pack Department.
Monitor KPIs daily and take action as needed to support financial goals.
Lead regular safety tailgate meetings and provide training as necessary to ensure team awareness and compliance.
Coordinate and schedule off-season preventive maintenance for packing equipment and infrastructure.
Provide support for repack operations during the off-season.
Mentor and train Pack employees, promoting skill development and adherence to performance expectations.
Understand, follow, enforce, and uphold all safety and food safety rules, regulations, and policies.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Management Team.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Must have a college degree or a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Lead or Supervisor role.  

SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Must be computer literate and able to utilize software programs; must be organized, able to manage time, priorities, and tasks; must be able to adapt to changing standards and requirements on routine basis; must be able to read, comprehend, and follow instructions in English, Spanish fluency required; must be able to be certified in forklift operation; must be able to multi-task; must provide leadership and guidance to employees and delegate tasks; must motivate and encourage employees to reach their maximum potential
