Expected pay for this position is $26.99 - $31.75/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is a Salaried position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The PACE Pastoral Care Professional is an integral part of all participant care. They support and complement the interdisciplinary care team, serving the spiritual, emotional, and psychosocial needs of all participants across the lifespan as well as the needs of family members and Mission Partners, assisting in their holistic healing. The PACE Pastoral Care Professional is an integral part of a pastoral care team that embraces a model of care for the whole person – body, mind, and spirit. Directed to the spiritual dimensions of the human person that are often appreciated more deeply during times of illness, pastoral care is an integral part of the patient care team. This position is effectively integrated with patient care and family support services throughout OSF. A foundational focus of the PACE Pastoral Care Professional is to serve as a pastoral and spiritual support to patients, care givers and patient care teams in ways they identify as meaningful and helpful. Through professional training and certification, the position assists patients/families to understand life’s events more fully as they relate to their spiritual and emotional well-being.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Successful completion of the ICHA/NCBC Course for Chaplains on the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services (ERDs) as required by the local Diocese within six months of hire.

Experience:

Successful completion of at least one unit of Clinical Pastoral

Education completed within 6 months of hire.

Licensure/ Certification:

• BLS CPR card through American Heart Association
• Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
• A minimum of one year experience in working with the frail or elderly population or, if the individual has less than one year of experience but meets all other requirements, must receive appropriate training from the PACE organization on working with a frail or elderly population upon hiring.
• Solid standing in the Church through ecclesiastical endorsement.
• Must meet requirements of the local Catholic Diocese regarding the appointment pastoral care staff of a Catholic healthcare institution.
• Ability to articulate the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Facilities.
• Ability and desire to work with participants, their family, clergy, and volunteers of varying faith backgrounds.
• Flexibility in work hours, programs, and services.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Master's Degree from an accredited college, university, seminary, or divinity. Completion of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education.

Experience: One year of pastoral care experience in an acute care hospital setting. Licensure/ Certification: N/A Other Skills/ Knowledge: N/A
