Position Summary

The Weill Cornell Medicine Physician Assistants (PA) Program is seeking motivated recent graduates who previously served as peer tutors to join its tutoring team. This role extends the program’s peer-to-peer tutoring model by engaging former student tutors in continued academic support for current students.

PA Program Tutors will provide academic guidance, reinforce clinical concepts, and support the development of effective study strategies, time management, and exam preparation skills. In addition, tutors will offer mentorship to help students strengthen clinical reasoning and succeed in their coursework.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions for PA students.
• Assist students in understanding high-yield clinical concepts
• Share effective study strategies, time management techniques, and exam preparation tips.
• Review course material and practice questions to reinforce student learning.
• Serve as a peer mentor, offering guidance on navigating the PA program.
• Communicate with faculty or Academic Success leadership as needed to support student learning
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.

Education

• MS/MSHS in PA Studies

Experience

Qualifications:
• Recent graduate of the WCM Physician Assistants Program.
• Strong academic record and comprehensive understanding of PA curriculum.

Preferred:
• Previous tutoring, mentoring, or teaching experience.
• Experience with clinical rotations and understanding of practical application of medical knowledge.
• Completion of training or workshops with Weill Cornell learning specialist.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and approachable manner.
• Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and dedication to student success.
