Qualifications: About the Role:

Behavioral Health Workers support the implementation of individualized care plans for clients facing mental health and/or substance use challenges. They adhere to the policies, rules, regulations, and directives of North Range Behavioral Health while facilitating client engagement. Behavioral Health Workers act as sources of emotional support, assist with resource navigation and problem-solving, and advocate for clients' needs to ensure their active participation in care plans.

This position will provide services in the following programs:

Crisis Stabilization Services (Acute Treatment Unit and Withdrawal Management (Detox):

Crisis Stabilization Services (CSS) delivers comprehensive care for individuals facing mental health challenges and substance use disorders. Through our Acute Treatment Unit and Withdrawal Management (Detox) programs, we address clients’ unique needs with empathy and expertise. Our services include individual counseling, medication monitoring, case management, group therapy, withdrawal management, tailored discharge and aftercare planning, all designed to empower clients on their path to recovery.

Crisis Response Team (Crisis Walk-In Center):

The Crisis Response Team is a specialized team that works to provide critical assessments and care for individuals and families in crisis across Weld County and a 12-county region in Northeast Colorado. This rewarding role involves responding to emergency walk-ins, crisis calls, and after-hours on-call situations. You’ll have the chance to make an immediate impact by conducting evaluations, identifying the best care options in the least restrictive settings, and facilitating connections to appropriate resources. In this position, you may also provide intensive care coordination for Weld County clients and assist with discharge planning, helping individuals successfully transition from higher levels of care back into their communities.

True North:

At True North, we are committed to transforming lives impacted by substance use and addiction. Our Intensive Residential Treatment program offers up to 45 days of personalized, harm-reduction-focused care for individuals aged 18 and older. Through therapy, structured support, life skills training, and community reengagement, we help residents build a solid foundation for a healthier, more fulfilling future. We collaborate with programs like Withdrawal Management, Crisis Response Teams, Intensive Outpatient, Medication-Assisted Treatment, and Recovery Support Services, ensuring comprehensive support for every step of the recovery journey.

Wings:

Women struggling with addiction have limited options for treatment, and even fewer options if they are pregnant or have small children. The Wings program provides residential and intensive outpatient treatment for pregnant women and their children aged birth to five. These comprehensive services facilitate recovery from addiction and promote family self-sufficiency and healthy lifestyle choices. Wings works closely with the North Range Behavioral Health Early Childhood and Family Connects programs, and continued treatment includes the children in a whole family approach.

Recovery Support Services:

Recovery Support Services provides a comprehensive continuum of care designed to meet the diverse needs of individuals in our community. This position will primarily fill in at the Maxwell Center, a 10-bed, long-term care facility offering daily living assistance, personal care, homemaking services, and ongoing oversight to residents. Residents of Maxwell also engage in group and recreational therapy and actively participate in outpatient treatment through North Range Behavioral Health. In addition to the Maxwell Center, this position partners with Greeley’s newest permanent supportive housing community, StarRise. StarRise provides free, on-site services to residents, including case management, nutrition support, medical and mental health care, employment assistance, and benefits enrollment.

This position includes eligibility for a monthly performance bonus.
 

What You Will Do:

Assist supervisory staff in assuring that clients comply with program rules, guidelines, and directives while they participate in all aspects of daily living and treatment within the facility and outside the facility when instructed.
Assist in the client administration process, including orientation, training, and other activities to maximize clients' positive adjustment to the setting.
Observe client behavior to identify changes or indicators of special needs and report those observations to designated staff as they occur.
Participate in the delivery of group activities and serve as an assistant to the clinical staff in treatment events as requested. May participate in one-to-one treatment sessions with clients as designated by the program.
Assist with meal service and participate with clients during mealtime as indicated by client care plans; assist with client wellness checks and breaks per program requirements. They may be required to monitor clients on breaks where tobacco products are used.
Conduct house/community meetings and engage in client discussions.
Assist in monitoring client use of medications and management of those medications.
Assist in special outings, tours, trips, and other special projects that are part of the program plans.
Function as a crisis intervention specialist when required to implement response plans for a client demonstrating difficult behaviors, health emergencies, or natural disasters.
Use appropriate de-escalation, seclusion, and/or restraint techniques when necessary following program guidelines.
Demonstrate competency in the use of timeouts, token economy, therapeutic privacy, therapeutic physical restraint, and locked time out as behavioral interventions as appropriate for the facility and situation.
