Job Description
St. John’s UCC in Denver, PA, is seeking an Organist/Music Director to lead the musical life of our average sized main-line church.
About the Role
The Organist/Music Director oversees all musical aspects of worship (traditional and contemporary), providing organ and piano music, directing multiple choirs, and collaborating closely with church leadership.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide organ and piano music for Sunday worship and special holiday services.
- Direct the adult vocal choir, adult bell choir, and senior bell choir.
- Coordinate special music, including guest musicians and school district ensembles
- Select worship music in collaboration with the Pastor and Worship Team
- Maintain and schedule tuning/repairs for organ, piano, bells, and chimes
- Maintain music library
- Attend staff and Worship Team meetings as needed
- Provide music for weddings and funerals for additional compensation
Qualifications
- Strong organ and piano performance skills
- Experience directing choirs and bell choirs
- Formal music education or equivalent training
- Knowledge of worship traditions, liturgical seasons, and diverse church music styles
- Collaborative, dependable, and enthusiastic about Christian worship
- Ability to pass Pennsylvania childcare clearances

- Kawai baby grand piano
- Three octaves of Malmark handbells and hand chimes
