Job Description

Role summary
Leads Orchard's US client partnership and cross-capability delivery for complex, multi-brand programs. This is an ecosystem-level account role: the Account Director orchestrates strategy, scoping, governance, and commercial stewardship across fragmented multi-platform programs, aligning brand, CRM, web, content, analytics and regulatory workstreams and is the link between client leadership and Orchard's Strategy, Experience, Data, Tech and Delivery teams.

Key responsibilities

• Owns account and ecosystem leadership across multiple concurrent brand programs, setting the strategic narrative and decision cadence rather than just tracking status
• Leads cross-channel integration work spanning website optimization, CRM/marketing automation, email/SMS journeys, and analytics/data compliance
• Shapes portfolio-level strategy (co-promotion, growth initiatives) across brands and builds the decision forums needed to move them forward
• Owns portfolio financial health including forecasting, margin awareness, and delivery against plan
• Owns commercial growth: spot opportunities, qualify demand, and help shape new work before it becomes a brief
• Owns SOW negotiation and commercial terms with client leadership, and leads monthly budget reviews and forecasting with the client
• Manages senior stakeholder relationships through regulatory review gates (e.g. Veeva workflows) without letting compliance friction stall client momentum
• Partners daily across Strategy, Experience, Data, MarTech, PM/PD and Tech leads to keep multi-brand delivery aligned
• Maintains a clear commercial viewpoint and keeps senior leadership informed on portfolio health, risks, and growth opportunities

What success looks like

• Client leadership treats this person as a strategic partner, not an order-taker — they're pulled into brand planning conversations, not just briefed after the fact
• SOWs, financials and pacing are kept current and predictive growth / forecasts are well-reasoned, achievable and with appropriate ambition
• Cross-brand initiatives progress efficiently through governance rather than stalling in review
• Internal capability leads (Data, Tech, Experience) get clear, timely asks instead of ambiguous requests that create rework

Qualifications

Requirements

• 6+ years in account/client leadership within an agency or consultancy, with experience running multi-brand or multi-workstream client portfolios
• Experience in regulated industries (pharma, healthcare, animal health) and familiarity with compliance/review gates (Veeva, AHRC, OneWeb, or equivalent) strongly preferred
• Demonstrated commercial ownership SOW negotiation, financial pacing, capacity planning not just relationship management
• Track record of driving cross-functional teams (strategy, data, tech, creative) toward shared deliverables without direct authority over them
• Confident operating at senior client level within complex, matrixed organisations
• Must be present in the client office weekly/fortnightly
