Operations Systems and Integration Manager
Department Operations / Information Systems
Reports To Vice President - Systems and Integration
Classification Salaried, Exempt
Location: Remote, Approx 25% travel varies throughout the year.
Position Summary
The Operations Systems and Integration Manager is the hands-on execution arm for our core field-service platforms — PestPac and Real Green. The Vice President – Systems and Integration owns the systems strategy, roadmap, standards, and functional relationships; this role turns that direction into working configuration, clean data, adopted processes, and completed integrations. It serves as the connective tissue between operations, customer care, finance, sales, and IT — informing decisions with field-level detail, influencing stakeholders without direct authority, and operationalizing what leadership decides.
This is a hands-on, individual contributor role for someone who is equally comfortable mapping a workflow with a branch manager, writing a clear requirements document, configuring a system, and recommending a pragmatic technical solution. It sits inside a private equity–backed pest control and lawn care platform, so the work moves at acquisition pace and carries sponsor-level expectations for data integrity, reporting accuracy, and integration timelines. Success looks like fewer manual workarounds, faster onboarding of acquired locations, cleaner data flowing between systems, and end users who can do their jobs without fighting the software.
Key Responsibilities
System Improvement — PestPac and Real Green
- Serve as the day-to-day subject matter expert and hands-on administrator for PestPac and Real Green — executing configuration, workflow design, user roles and permissions, pricing setup, route and scheduling setup, and reporting within the standards and priorities set by the VP.
- Continuously identify opportunities to streamline workflows, eliminate manual steps, and reduce user friction across both pest control and lawn care service lines — for office staff, technicians, customer care representatives, and field leadership — and bring them forward with a clear recommendation.
- Maintain the working backlog of system enhancements and recommend prioritization to the VP; once direction is set, scope the work, build the business case, and drive delivery from requirements through testing, training, and adoption.
- Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for PestPac and Real Green support and account teams; track product roadmaps, and escalate and follow up on support issues.
Cross-Functional Collaboration, Shared Services, and User Enablement
- Partner with operations, customer care, finance, sales, and marketing to translate business problems into clear system requirements and pragmatic options for leadership to weigh.
- Facilitate working sessions with end users to observe real workflows, surface pain points, and validate proposed changes before rollout.
- Serve as the first escalation point for complex system issues; work with IT support and vendors to resolve root causes rather than symptoms, and escalate to the VP when a decision, exception, or vendor commitment is needed.
- Build durable working relationships with shared services departments — billing, collections, accounts payable, payroll, procurement, customer care, and IT — surfacing manual handoffs and data breakpoints, and operationalizing the automation and process changes agreed with those leaders and the VP.
- Help shape shared data definitions, entry standards, and service-level expectations across functions, then reinforce them in daily execution — holding team members accountable for accurate, timely data and escalating persistent gaps to the VP and the responsible functional leader.
- Apply deep, practical understanding of pest control and lawn care operations and customer care — service agreements and renewals, routing and scheduling, technician productivity, application and regulatory documentation, call flows, and payment channels — so recommendations are credible and system decisions hold up in the field and at the customer.
Enabling Company Initiatives
- Translate strategic initiatives (pricing changes, service line launches, route optimization, customer experience programs, compliance requirements) into actionable system and process changes.
- Partner with initiative owners to build implementation plans, sequence dependencies, and ensure systems are ready to support new business requirements on time.
- Propose creative, practical solutions when off-the-shelf functionality does not fit; weigh trade-offs between configuration, customization, third-party tools, and process change, and bring a recommended path to the VP for decision.
M&A Integration Playbook Execution
- Execute the system-side activities of the M&A integration playbook for newly acquired branches and businesses, including discovery, data migration, system cutover, and post-close stabilization.
- Conduct discovery of acquired companies' existing systems, customer data, route structures, pricing, and operational workflows; surface integration risks and gaps early to the VP and the integration team.
- Plan and execute customer, service history, route, and financial data migration into PestPac and Real Green with strong attention to data quality and reconciliation.
- Coordinate training, go-live support, and hypercare for acquired teams; ensure new users are productive quickly and friction is minimized in the first weeks post-close.
- Capture lessons learned from each integration and recommend improvements to the playbook, templates, checklists, and timelines.
- Supply the mapped, validated, reconciled data that sponsor and executive reporting depends on through and after integration, so acquired businesses report on platform-standard definitions from day one.
Key Performance Indicators
- A maintained, transparent backlog of PestPac and Real Green improvements, prioritized with the VP, with measurable reductions in user-reported friction.
- On-time, on-quality system-side execution of M&A integrations, with shortened time-to-productivity for acquired teams.
- Successful enablement of at least one major company initiative through system and process changes.
- Consistent, well-informed input into the systems roadmap, with the VP able to rely on this role for accurate effort, dependency, and field-impact assessments.
- Measurable improvement in data accuracy at shared services handoffs — fewer billing corrections, less rework, and fewer customer-impacting errors.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of progressive experience as a business systems analyst, systems manager, operations systems lead, or similar role in a service-based or multi-location operating business.
- Demonstrated experience administering, configuring, and improving a field service management or operational platform (PestPac, Real Green, ServiceTitan, Salesforce Field Service, or comparable).
- Strong working knowledge of how field service operations actually run: routing, scheduling, dispatch, service history, billing, collections, and customer communications.
- Proven track record of driving cross-functional system improvement projects from requirements through adoption without direct authority over the teams involved.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to translate between technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical skills with comfort in spreadsheets and reporting tools; ability to use data to define problems and measure outcomes.
- Direct experience within a private equity–owned pest control and/or lawn care business, with a working understanding of the pace, integration cadence, reporting discipline, and value-creation expectations that come with sponsor ownership.
- Deep understanding of pest control and lawn care operations and customer care, including service agreements and renewals, routing and scheduling, technician productivity, chemical application and regulatory documentation, and the customer care workflows that drive retention.
- Demonstrated success collaborating with shared services departments to automate manual processes and improve data integrity and accuracy across systems.
- Track record of holding team members and process owners accountable for accuracy — through influence and follow-through rather than reporting line — with the judgment to know when an error is a training issue, a process issue, or a system issue.
- Comfort operating inside a strategy and roadmap set by someone else: clarifying direction, executing against it, and raising issues early rather than working around them.
Preferred
- Hands-on experience with PestPac and/or Real Green as a system administrator, super user, or implementation lead.
- Experience supporting M&A integration activities, including system and data migration for acquired businesses.
- Project management or process improvement credentials (PMP, Lean Six Sigma, Agile/Scrum) or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience operating across multiple brands, regions, or service lines within a multi-site, acquisitive operating environment.
Key Competencies
- Operator's mindset — understands that systems exist to serve the business, not the other way around.
- Bias toward action and pragmatic solutions; comfortable with iterative improvement over perfection.
- Strong ownership of outcomes and follow-through; sees problems through to resolution or to a clear decision by the right owner.
- Influences without authority — earns credibility with branch, shared services, functional, and executive stakeholders through operational knowledge, clear communication, and consistent follow-through.
- High attention to data quality and process detail.
- Calm and effective under the time pressure of M&A close timelines and go-lives.
- Sets a high bar for accuracy and holds others to it — direct, respectful, and persistent in follow-up until data and process standards are met.
- Operational empathy for pest control and lawn care field, branch, and customer care teams, and for the customer outcomes their work drives.
- Keeps leadership informed — surfaces risks, trade-offs, and status early and without spin, so the VP can make decisions with full context.
Work Environment & Schedule
Primarily remote work, with periodic travel to branch locations and acquired businesses for discovery, training, go-live support, and hypercare. Estimated travel: approximately 25%, varying throughout the year.
