Onsite Project Manager – Data Center Electrical (Medium Voltage)

The Onsite Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the installation, coordination, and delivery of medium voltage (MV) electrical systems for data center construction projects. This role ensures that all MV infrastructure—such as substations, switchgear, transformers, and distribution systems—is installed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with design specifications and industry standards. The position requires close coordination with contractors, utilities, and engineering teams in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

What You'll Do

• Lead onsite execution of medium voltage electrical scope for data center construction projects• Manage installation of MV systems (typically 5kV–35kV), including switchgear, transformers, feeders, and substations• Coordinate with utility providers for service integration, energization, and outages• Oversee subcontractors and field crews to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to schedule• Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and one-line diagrams• Track project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies• Ensure compliance with NEC, local codes, and data center design standards• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and field documentation• Conduct site walks, inspections, and QA/QC verification of installed systems• Support commissioning activities, including pre-functional and functional testing of MV systems• Collaborate with civil, structural, and mechanical teams to resolve coordination issues• Enforce safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and energized work procedures• Provide regular reporting to stakeholders on schedule, budget, and progress
