A. POSITION PURPOSE

This position provides professional-level keyboard and rehearsal/track recording support and coaching for:

• applied music lesson instruction and examinations,

• rehearsal and performance activities of ensembles, performing arts students and faculty.

B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide coaching and rehearsal support to vocal and instrumental students at weekly lessons, rehearsals, recitals, and quarterly juries.

• Provide accompaniment for performing arts department-sponsored performances as assigned.

D.   QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires the ability to effectively establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within a diverse multicultural environment.

1. Education

• Bachelor of Music with 2 years of commensurate professional experience required 

• Master of Music preferred

2. Professional level piano skills, may specialize in one of the following areas:

• Instrumental music

• Vocal music (classical)

• Vocal music (musical theater)

• Ensemble

3. Excellent sight-reading skills

4. Ability to coach students in musical accuracy, performance styles, ensemble techniques; for singers, also lyrics and foreign languages.

5. Personal Skills

• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills
